Re: Error Message
It could be the the DVD laser has died so only BD and UHD disks will work with that drive. Or, is the drive in an external enclosure? I have a drive that when used internally works fine for DVD/BD/UHD but when in an external enclosure DVD will not work.

Re: Make MKV from already ripped DVD folder on drive?
Thanks. I had tried this but for some reason I got errors on the first couple that I tried. It's working now. Not sure what I did wrong before or if I had some weird DVD structures. Not all VIDEO_TS structures are created properly. In particular I get lots of 'MactheRipper' warnings on some DVD ima...

Re: Splitting apart episodes
I tried MKVToolNix, but it seems even more completed. Thanks for the input. Daryl What's complicated? Using MKVToolNix to just split a file by chapters is easy. Usually DVDs that do what you described has the episodes as chapters in the 'movie' version that you ripped. Load the file up in MKVToolNi...

Yes, you can open the VIDEO_TS folder and create mkvs from it.

You probably need a valid output file name like -o firmware.dump instead of -o ./ (thats a invalid filename)

This happens occasionally. I'd guess Mike will fix it soon. But since it's hosted in Russia I hope isn't not the Ukraine sanctions causing it.

Re: Wrong Frame Rate In MKV Container When Checking FPS
I don't think I have any Doctor Who content that I've ripped that was 25FPS, but I have this that I ripped from an Australian DVD of Matlock Police: General Unique ID : 247283144488852466966502514673610678733 (0xBA0900535167D54EDD3B71BFDD9461CD) Complete name : Matlock Police - S01E01 - Twenty Six H...

Re: Subtitles for foreign language only?
I normally use MKVToolNix to manually set the 'forced' flag on the correct subtitle track once I know what it is. Doesn't take hardly any time at all to update the mkv.

Just curious but why are you complicating your workflow by even using AnyDVD when MakeMKV is all you need.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST: setFirstVideoTrackAsDefault
This thread now has almost 5,600 views, surely that must count for something? People are obviously searching out this feature. Just because people read the thread doesn't mean that they want the feature. I read it out of curiosity. I would say that the gauge of if people want the feature is if they...

Re: Failed to open disc: audio DVD
MakeMKV is for ripping video, not audio so it cannot handle DVD-Audio discs. (I've run into this before).

Re: Profile: FLAC vs Default
I can only speak to my experience with audio FLAC. I have several albums that are FLAC 5.1. They play perfect on my Yamaha AVR.
I don't know how something like Atmos will translate to FLAC 7.1.

Re: Can't allocated folder on NAS to save projects
We have no way of knowing how you have the NAS mounted to your system. This has nothing to do with MakeMKV, it's purely you learning how to use linux.
