Re: Force output file to MKV (H.264)

You have a huge misunderstanding on how video decoding and MakeMKV works. MakeMKV outputs whatever is on the Blu-ray disc, as-is. It makes no attempts to re-encode files other than FLAC or AAC audio should you use those profiles. In other words your problem is with the Roku3, not MakeMKV. Plus just...

Force output file to MKV (H.264)

What determines or is there a way/means/setting so that the file being put inside the MKV container is in a specific video Format? I have installed VLM Player on my Macbook Pro and it sees and will play all my MKV files from my Media Server. This makes sense because it has codecs and can transcode f...

DELETED. Right after I posted , I was then able to download 1.10.5, Doh!

Re: Just installed newest version, still says it's too old

But the current beta key is expired... and a week before it normally would. Until Mike replaces the beta key, you'll have to set your system DATE back to 20 March long enough to start MakeMKV, then you can restore it to the current date. NOTE TO VORTEXBOX USERS: If your are getting this error "...

Re: Displayed Information after Ripping and Settings

So if one doesn't activate/enable Java for Lionsgate Films, would one start by selecting the largest file first and do a MakeMKV then test, then pick the next largest and so on until one finds the right one? Does this work, but can be time consuming?

Displayed Information after Ripping and Settings

I have seen multiple screen shots of the MakeMKV screen interface of a DVD that has been ripped and is ready for making the decisions of which ripped files to create into the MKV File. I see text descriptions at the end of the right side of the file such as FPL_MainFeature and so forth. I never see ...

Thanks Woodstock, that was it. Needed the largest file with the DD Mono English to get a MKV file that had dialog audio I could hear using PLEX.

Re: makemkvcon and headless operation

Yes, hard drive space keeps getting cheaper and as long as the movie isn't going on a mobile device with limited space, I find its best to rip to MKV because it has the most advantages. MKV plays on a PC, Smart Phone, Table, PLEX, Roku, and on and on and on. So why rip with HandBrake and then have t...

Re: DVDs that cannot be ripped:

Wild guess is that the director's commentary is a "better quality" audio than the movie audio, and you're using the default selection rule for MakeMKV. This is especially true of titles where the main audio is 2 channels, and the commentary is a 5.1 channel. When you load the disk, click ...

Re: DVDs that cannot be ripped:

This would be the "final cut" disc. I was able to rip Blade Runner Final Cut with MakeMKV to an MKV file and also with RedFox CloneDVD2 to an ISO/TS file. I ripped Memento with RedFox CloneDVD2 then used MakeMKV to turn the TS file into an MKV file. I am having issues with other DVDs. No ...
