Re: Bad Setup File? (Virus Detected)
I got the same message. Deleted 1.14.1.exe from my system via the quarantine clean-up, then came back today and re-downloaded the file. As soon as the file completed the download (Widows O/S) I re-scanned it. No errors presented. Then I ran the installer. It went fine. So I don't know what was causi...

Re: Does MakeMKV permanently remove protection on Blu Rays?
It runs the same process each time, yes.chococookie891 wrote:If MakeMKV is run on the same copy of a disc more than once, will it have to decrypt the the BD each time because the DRM is still intact?

Re: Episode order on disc
I've found that while tracks are often out of order, the mpls files are. For example, I have a disc of a particular TV series that I'm ripping now. For Disc 1, the playlists are 800.mpls, 801.mpls, and 802.mpls. However, they are track 5 (Game_Of_Thrones_Season_6_Disc_1_t05.mkv), 1, and 2. The vario...

Re: Feature Request: an "Uncheck All" feature
Uncheck All works only at the level of the click. If you go into an episode, you can right-click and "Uncheck all" again at that level to remove the marks you highlighted.

Re: How to choose between Duplicate files
On the "out of order" front, check the Source File name field in the Info section - usually, the number in that name will increase as you find each episode. If they're out-of-order in the list, if you name them IN order, you will usually be right. Frequently but not 100% at least in my ex...

Re: How to choose between Duplicate files
The most frequent reason I've encountered for duplicate titles is language tracks. In every case, both versions of the same file will include English. It's the secondary languages that are different. I see this most frequently on TV shows (rarely movies). I'm attaching a screen shot from Arrow Seaso...

Re: A few questions on audio settings and playback programs
Congrats on your family expansion. :) I'm not an expert, but the process of ripping to a file doesn't do anything to the audio or video quality. It's what comes next that does. For example, my workflow includes ripping the disc with MakeMKV, then encoding the file with HandBrake, tagging it with Ato...

My copy of Star Trek: The Next Generation was the same way (hand prints). Turned out to be counterfeit.

Re: jpeg files
If you browse the blu-ray disc itself, you'll probably find the jpeg is a background image for a menu or something. It's not a copy of the cover picture... that would make too much sense.

Re: Need a new BD drive, which one?
Here's my after-purchase report. I got the LG model mentioned above and installed it this past weekend. With only one exception, every disc that I had received "read errors" on before was ripped successfully using the new drive. That in itself made it worth the cost to buy it. A secondary ...

Re: Nikita
Many of the TV shows I have ripped recently do this. If you put the disc in your drive and use MakeMKV to "open" each one, you'll probably find out that one file has a bunch of different languages, and another file has only a limited number, typically seems to be Japanese. Both will have E...

Re: Need a new BD drive, which one?
Either should work, but... "Silent Play" is LG's version of the issue I mentioned with Pioneer drives. When it detects that you've loaded something it recognizes as "playable media" (as opposed to "just" a data disk), it will limit the rotational speed to keep the driv...

Re: Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies Extended
I'm using an internal drive, not a USB external drive. Unless the internal connection is via USB (which I would be surprised) that's not the issue. My version is a bundle of all three extended versions purchased via Amazon. I also have the regular versions purchased as they came out, and they all ri...
