Re: Right aspect ratio, but zoomed out?
Why did you change the display size to 1920x1080? This is the resolution for Blu-rays and not for DVDs. This should always be set to the native medium resolution. I have never had problems to change the aspect ratio to the correct value with MKVtoolNIX. VLC displays it with the native resolution in ...

Re: Right aspect ratio, but zoomed out?
Small update:
Make sure that the VLC settings for "Video->Aspect Radio" and "Video-> Crop" are set to "Default" to avoid that VLC makes some strange things.

Re: Right aspect ratio, but zoomed out?
To fix this, use "MKVToolNIX GUI" (part of the mkvmerge toolset), load the created MKV file, select the video track, go into the lower right corner to the "Video Properties" and select in the "Set Aspect Ratio" selection "4/3" or "16/9" and remuxx th...

Re: Becky (Kevin James) 2020
Yes, the drive detects the type of the disc, but the OS interprets the file system and data structures.avenger09123 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 1:16 am@Grauhaar - isn't it the drive firmware reads the disc to determine what type it is (DVD, Blu-Ray, CDROM), then the OS tries to read it's contents.

I hope you all know, that the disc is identified by the Operating System. As long as this does not work, MakeMKV cannot see the disc.

Are you using a conversion (LPCM f.e to FLAC) for the audio track?

Re: Using space bar to select
Normaly only one title is needed, the main title. To select it and have all other deselected, select a title, click right, use "deselect all" and select only the one which is needed. 2 seconds, not more.

Re: MKV can't open good disk. Do devlopers want a copy?
Well @Grauhaar, here's a smarter rule: If I develop a product that can't work with files that all other products can use, I appreciate users reporting issues as well as offers to help. Sorry, I'm not the developer of MakeMKV, I'm a normal user as you. If you do not want to provide more information,...

General rule, use the original disc and provide a full debug log. Noone knows what the copy tool does with the files.

Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID FIELD IN CDB' occurred while issuing SCSI command A40..002000800 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom0' This kind of SCSI errors are fatal, because the device cannot understand something from the passed request. Re: From the Earth to the Moon DVD
This documentaion is very old and long time available on DVD. On my server are 12 single episodes ripped from the DVDs years ago. Try it with "File-> Open DVD files manually", maybe it helps.

Re: Ordinary People AACS v76
Hmm, send the dump again (support@makemkv.com). Normaly it takes 1-3 days to get the update for the Hashkey Table. Do you have allowed MakeMKV to get updates? There should be a message "downloading new HK data" if there is an update available. This has nothing with LibreDrive to do. LibreD...

Disc detection is done by the Operating System. So it looks like, that the drive has a problem.
