MakeMKV is NOT an compression tool. It copies and decrypts the contens and stores it in mkv files.Socketman wrote:and i was able to compress the movie though i was not that happy with the results.

Re: Problem running Makemkv
Very strange. If the disc is loaded and identified the name is display and clicking on the disc symbol opens the disc to checkout what should be saved to mkv files. No idea why it starts (automaticaly?) the backup function. Make sure that this is Blu-ray or DVD!!! If you open the backup later, MakeM...

Re: Forced Subtitle Only Selection Rule
There are three different subtitle contens possible in an track. Case 1 is often used for foreign subtitles, all subs in one track and the forced with flag set. The MakeMkv "Forced subtitle track" makes only sense for case 1, to extract the forced set subtitles form all others into an extr...

Re: Missing MPLS from MKV title list - Alien Anthology Extra
The possible reason is, that MakeMKV filters this MPLS because the streams segments in the MPLS contains different video and/or audio resolutions or different numbers of audio and/or subtitle tracks. An MKV file can hold/describe only one specifiction for video/audio(s)/subtitles(s) in the MKV heade...

63 is the largest number you can store in one byte, I've seen lots of bugs when you reach this type of boundary condition) Intresting, can you please explain why 63 (Decimal or Hexadecimal) is the largest/highest number? I'm working since approx. 40 years with computers and have never heard this. 8...

Re: 20th Century Women - Rip Warning in middle of movie
Have you ripped the blu-ray to mkv? Are there more than one pissible title available in the selection? Best is to perform a decrypted backup, open with MakeMKV from the backup the "index" file and view each stream segment from the MPLS (Playlist) to find out which stream segement contains ...

Re: Blurays Having 5 Episodes As One File
Most Season Blu-rays have one Title (MPLS Playlist) which combines all Episodes on this disc (big size ~30-40GB). But there are normaly also Titles (MPLS Playlists) for each single Eposide (small Size ~10GB).

Re: Early Man - Red Box
There is no need to specify Java in the MakeMKV settings. This is only needed if it is a "non standard" Java installation. MakeMKV finds Java by itself. Messages in the log shows the detection (only if Java is needed). I've nothing specified in MakeMKV and only a normal JRE installed and i...

Re: No Menus or Title Showing Up
Only the ISO format stores the complete structure and all files (untouched) in one ISO file. Formats like MKV, TS, MOV, MP4 are pur container formats to store comverted data from the original container, but always without the menu which is stored in other files (IFO for DVDs).

Re: No Menus or Title Showing Up
The program is named MakeMKV and MKV is designed to save ONE Title (Video, Audio(s), Subtitle(s), Chapter) in ONE File. Menus are not supported by the MKV Container Format. The ISO format is simple. all files and structures are copied in one file, like a ZIP file.

Re: Black Panther Subtitles
You must select both subtitle tracks and check it later with f.e. VLC. Your option selects only subtitles with are flagged as "forced" but if there is a complete separate subtitle track for "forced" subtitles, they have not the forced flag set. There are two types of subtitle tra...

Re: Files in 576i not 1080p
What have you ripped with MakeMKV? A DVD has 576i (maximal), only Blu-rays have a maximum resolution of 1080p or other lower resolution formats.
