Good news, you can convert from an MKV 3D to a format suitable for playing on another player. Software LINUX Mint 17 (will this work with windows? I'll leave that for Window users to test) MakeMKV 1.9.10 FFMPEG (it does not appear that avconv shipped with many Linux distros has the required filters)...
