Thanks Billycar11, that's exactly what was needed!
I normally keep my machine on, so I've had this problem since yesterday. I did a complete shutdown (turned off the PSU as well just in case). When I saw the disc on the desktop I was so happy! Thanks, you really made my day!

[Solved] LG WH16NS40 (w/ 60 upgrade) doesn't see BD discs anymore
Running MakeMKV 1.17.1 on Xubuntu 20.04. I have an LG WD-16NS40 with the WH16NS60 firmware (LibreDrive MT1959). Up until recently the system has been detecting BD and UHD discs fine. MakeMKV still sees DVDs and I seem to have no problem ripping them. Blu-rays, however, just show up greyed out. Has ...

Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
If you are affected:
Please do post your drive model, log file (if you have it), and whether the "power off-power on" did change anything.
Running a registered version of MakeMKV (compiled as per forums) on Xubuntu 20.04 (also same experience on Ubuntu 18.04). This is a fresh installation of ...

Older versions available 1.5.1 seems to have issues?
Just wondering if older versions of MakeMKV are still available for Linux (to compile, I know some distributions have it in the repositories)?
Version 1.5.1 recognizes disks when they're inserted, but when I click to open the disk MakeMKV 1.5.1 errors out. I've tried with new and old DVDs as well ...

Re: Lost the email with my MakeMKV registration
Just a quick thank you to everyone! I couldn't remember the name of the processor (Avangate), but I had deleted the email while cleaning my email. Luckily my folks still had the original email and I was able to get all the details.

Re: Lost the email with my MakeMKV registration
and it may just be that you're not looking for the right "from" address - search for "avangate.com" as the sender.
Otherwise, what d00zah said
Thanks, yeah, it looks like I deleted the email. The good news is that d00zah seems to be correct, it can be obtained by logging into avangate. In my ...

Lost the email with my MakeMKV registration
In the process of trying to clean up my email mailbox I seem to have deleted the email with my MakeMKV registration key. There doesn't seem to be an email address or number to contact to re-request it? If I remember the email correctly MakeMKV wasn't even mentioned. It might still be buried in the ...

Re: DVD SRT
I'm not sure about Plex, but I know KODI/XBMC plays subtitles well with files ripped by MakeMKV (I'm a paid user). Subtitles are not on by default however - wonder if it's the same with Plex and you just need to activate them?

What most affects Ripping/Encoding speed? CPU? Video?
What would be the best way to improve the overall ripping/encoding of a blue ray? I'm thinking of upgrading my system and since I mostly use it for archiving my media I'd like to optimize what I buy for this process.
What affects the entire process the most?
a) Raw CPU speed/core count?
b) CPUs ...
