Re: MakeMKV not working under Debian Trixie
Maybe Leslie has no permission to write that "RAID/Server-Main..." drive? Sounds to me that only root have permission to write on that drive. You should first run older version to get firmware file. Bug in MakeMKV. You could compile that older version first or be lazy like me and just run ...

Re: Debian Trixie: Error with /configure
You need to extract also those tar files. Downloading with Firefox, the files are double compressed. (tar.gz and inside of that is .tar)
Some kind of bug in Firefox.

Re: "forever" mode with no messages
Gddrescue should read much faster if disc and drive are ok. And i don't se any read errors, bad-sector or bad areas on your post. Here is output post from disc with no copy protect. Press Ctrl-C to interrupt ipos: 399704 kB, non-trimmed: 0 B, current rate: 7733 kB/s opos: 399704 kB, non-scraped: 0 B...

Re: "forever" mode with no messages
You can try to make iso image with gddrescue. sudo apt install gddrescue Next you can run lsblk to find your drive. Normaly it is /dev/sr0 To make iso image from disc: ddrescue /dev/sr0 dvd.iso dvd.log -b 2048 -n -v If dvd is copy protect, then you need also libdvd-pkg and lsdvd packages to open pro...

Re: No panel icon in Gnome/Debian 13
Just on idea. Have you try to update icon cache?
I tested MakeMKV 1.18.2 on Debian 13 Gnome (Vanilla)
And there wasn't makemkv icon. Just some weird gear logo with MakeMKV text under it.
I update icon cache and icon appears.
gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/hicolor

Re: No panel icon in Gnome/Debian 13
You can't put any icons on Gnome's top panel.
You can drag & drop to Dash.

Re: MakeMKV above v1.17.7 still broken on Linux
Pretty sure I'm getting bitten by the same thing. I'm building a headless server, ... but I don't have the sources / binaries at my disposal to try to build 1.17.6 or a "known working" version. Drive is a Pioneer BD-XD07, and when I run from the CLI this happens (debug log). This is outpu...

Re: MakeMKV above v1.17.7 still broken on Linux
MakeMKV 1.18.2 works. I use MakeMKV 1.17.6 Appimage to get firmware dump.
