Re: UH12SN30 Firmware
FW can only enable UHD functionality on capable hardware. It is NOT magic. You MIGHT be able to reflash stock FW from here ? Or, maybe this? HLDS_LG UH12SN30_1.02-A0_NOBJ_DE.zip The first link says I have the incorrect firmware for my drive. I assume this is because my PC thinks this is a BH14NS40 ...

Re: UH12SN30 Firmware
I found an old drive I used to have and I apparently flashed BH14NS40 firmware over it, for what I assume was a foolish shot at reading UHD drives. Any chance someone has firmware for UH12SN30 I can have to attempt and flash this drive back to stock? If that is not possible let me know. I've been s...

Re: HP BDRE BU40N Revision BW43: which firmware from the firmwarepack should i flash to?
... Is there any reason why you bought a much more expensive one? I've been pack-ratting hardware for decades. It supports current, as well as legacy interfaces. Plugs into a USB hub on my desk. & it looks 'pretty' & the old one it replaced didn't support ATAPI devices. It was time fo...

Should work. My criteria were something that didn't require cracking the case. It's become a permanent/flexible desk/benchtop fixture. Getting to old for crawling around if I can avoid it.

Re: HP BDRE BU40N Revision BW43: which firmware from the firmwarepack should i flash to?
Based on this topic, I'd bet the enclosure is the issue. Was that you? It looks to report an LG FW, but the flash tool reports "... not a supported platform"
The guide recommends a few... but I was under the impression that most would now work?

what a crap..... can't flash my drive. Flash tool says it is not "MT1959 platform"... :x :x :x :x Can you please copy/paste the MakeMKV Drive Info / LibreDrive Info sections? Unless it's the enclosure causing you grief, others seemed to have flashed the drive just by 'clicking past' warni...

Re: Hitachi BDRE BU40N Revision BW43: which firmware from the firmwarepack should i flash to?
The 'generic' hardware is bought, 'badged' & resold by various vendors, who, in turn, support their respective versions. The FW would be theirs to maintain, hence the variety of rev #s.

Re: Hitachi BDRE BU40N Revision BW43: which firmware from the firmwarepack should i flash to?
Manufacturers rarely seem to post FW change logs any more, so it's only speculation, but over the years it seems updates were intended more often to stymie MakeMKV, et al, use than to address any functional problem. YMMV The recommended FW from Billy/Marty is based on what they've flashed & test...

Re: Flashing hangs/does nothing.
TLDR; 1.17.8 failed, 1.17.7 worked. ... The flashing worked when I downloaded the 1.17.7 binary and ran it with the command sudo ./makemvcon f -d 'dev.... the exact same options. Cmd line looked good, so my line of questioning was largely to narrow the field of typical culprits. Glad you got it goi...

I don't see anything obvious. How is the drive attached? Does MakeMKV function, as is?

It's helpful to copy/paste the current MakeMKV Drive Info/LibreDrive Info so we have a reliable starting point.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
@coopervid No means no downgrade possible? Okay i'll understand that it is encrypted. My drive came with 1.05 so to bad. But libredrive should be possible so i hope mike will/can add it? Or will this never happen because of the encryption? This is what mike said on page 4 Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer...
