Re: The BIG backup button

I don't use their products but if I visited their site without someone I trust telling me they're okay, they look like all those generic crap software products. Especially because they parcel out every feature into a separate program. Though RedFox does offer numerous products, their core one is An...

Re: Buying a blu-ray reader for PC, Asus BW-16D1HT or BC-12D

I don't have experience with either of those specific drives though have had success with Asus in general. You may want to check out these threads: http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16618 https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopi ... =1&t=15432 However, if I were in the market ...

Re: The Tunnel Sabotage - Complete Second Season playlist

It would be interesting to see what MakeMKV says when dealing with an episodic TV show, where there are multiple "correct playlists"... Grabbed a copy of Poldark, Series 2, Disc 1, which has playlist obfuscation. Turned off AnyDVD, downloaded and installed the latest JRE, fired up MakeMKV...

Re: The Tunnel Sabotage - Complete Second Season playlist

I'm embarrassed to say I assumed JRE/MakeMKV worked with episodic sets (ie, TV shows) like it does with single titles (ie, movies). I use AnyDVD which definitely shows all correct playlists, I'll need to pull out my Downton Abbey set and experiment with MakeMKV/JRE.

Re: Correct Title for BluRay of 2010 - The Year we Make Cont

Is MakeMKV showing any differences between the two files, such as different audio languages, subtitles, chapter counts? Are the titles of different lengths? Ultimately, it's only two, you can rip both, compare sizes and time lengths, and/or playback to find the right one. You may want to read up on ...

Re: BluRay - A Bug's Life - Correct Title

With Disney/Pixar films, the difference is usually title language. See this similar topic for details: https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopi ... =8&t=16745

Re: The Tunnel Sabotage - Complete Second Season playlist

Did MakeMKV with JRE not find the correct playlists? Please check this first (http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16791) and report findings.

Re: Kingsman: The Golden Circle BD problems

Anyone else try Kingsman: The Golden Circle BD redbox version yet? I tried this, and it crashes my whole computer, tried 5 times. I did Dunkirk BD with no problems, but when i try this BD, it gets about 5% in and my computer crashes. Tried using ClownBD on this disk and get an error with that progr...

Re: Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

My understanding is that TrueHD 7.1 has a 5.1 core, and if your Blu-ray player/receiver setup is non-Atmos , it will use the 5.1 core as a fallback if there are no other audio tracks. Some discs also add a dedicated 5.1 track. A quick correction; the receiver only needs to process high-resolution a...

Re: Failure with recent BluRay "Le Dîner de Cons"

A google search of "LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input" seems to indicate a problem with reading the disc, may be a dirty disc, physical damage, or mastering error. Try cleaning and, if possible, replace.

Re: 2nd Blu Ray Disc Not Seen by MakeMKV Without Reboot

To be clear, you insert a Blu-Ray disc into your external drive, rip it with MakeMKV (I assume successfully, meaning no errors are displayed, and I assume to the laptop's hard drive, and I assume you're ripping not backing up), eject the disc, insert a blank disc to burn content (I assume that's wha...

Thanks, preserve, excellent work. I would recommend one change, that you put a revision date, or "last revised", whatever, at the top of the post, something that states the last time you will have updated. We're in the "wild frontier" of UHD de-encrypting and processing so I expe...

Re: Stargate 15th anniversary blu ray errors

Are you referring to the disc that came out in 2009 (http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Stargate- ... -ray/6569/)? Though I have not, I'd be very surprised if an 8-year disc has not been able to be ripped. Please post more information if what I provided above is incorrect, and, better yet, an error repor...
