found the problem.
i installed this tool: https://objective-see.com/products/ostiarius.html
05.05.16 10:15:22,000 kernel[0]: OSTIARIUS: /Applications/MakeMKV.app/Contents/MacOS/makemkv is from the internet & is unsigned -> BLOCKING!
xattr -cr /Applications/MakeMKV.app/Contents/MacOS/makemkv ...

hm... i am running Mac OS X...
i did a "tail -f *" in /var/log while starting makemkv... nothing. So it looks like this is not the right place to look for the log...

i have a similar problem. 1.9.9 was running fine till last week. i tried to update 1.9.10 without success. 1.9.10 was nat starting. i found this thread an tried it out. but this is not working for me. right now i have the situation that no version (1.9.8, 1.9., 1.9.10) is stating anymore ...
