Re: Improperly compressed 1.17.7 archives

Just a quick "me too" on this. I had to run `gzip -d` on the file first before I could untar it.

Thanks for the tip!

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT stoped reading disks suddenly

full shutdown the pc flip psu switch hold power button for 10 seconds see if it works then Just a "me too" on this. I tried restarting the PC several times and it didn't work, but unplugging the SATA power from the BW-16D1HT and plugging it back in forced it to hard reset and it started w...

Re: Unable to execute external program 'ccextractor' on V1.14.1

FYI the ccextractor is now available on Debian Buster and later and Ubuntu focal and later (in the Universe repo). Installing should be as easy as: (make sure universe is enabled if on Ubuntu) sudo apt update sudo apt install ccextractor Then go into preferences, enable expert, go to "advanced&...

Re: Venom playlist

I had the exact same problem with this disc (Venom BD) on Debian 9 using Java 8. @bmillham, your tip worked great, I didn't notice that Java was crashing it. In my case, I had to rename /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-amd64/jre/bin/java. /usr/bin/java is just a link to /etc/alternatives/java, which is i...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.02 and problem reading DVDs

Thanks, I missed that thread somehow. It's funny this UHD drive basically won't read ANY DVD. My Sony BluRay drive usually reads DVDs fine, but read both of the discs I tried today with errors. My red-laser Memorex USB-powered DVD-only drive worked perfectly. Sounds like the long-term solution is to...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.02 and problem reading DVDs

I want to add a "me too" to this, sort of.

My BW-16D1HT with 3.02 rips BluRay and UHD just fine, but won't even recognize a DVD.

Does this indicate it's a DVD laser issue?

An older DVD drive rips the same DVDs just fine, so I've got backup plans. Just annoying.

Thoughts?

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55

This was fantastic, thanks so much for writing this up. I was able to flash my Asus BW-16D1HT from 3.03 to 3.02 and it is happily reading disks now! I used the DOS method with the Free Hex Editor FRHED. One thing that should be updated, the file to download for the "DOS method" with DOSFLA...

Re: All main episodes show up as one title/file.

It's really interesting, I used BDEdit and it found one playlist (0100) with 7 PlayItems and 29 PlayListMarks.

It looks like that's the only way to play the 7 episodes.

Bummer.

MKVToolnix is working well for this, but it would be nice to have this natively in MakeMKV.

Re: All main episodes show up as one title/file.

@MrVideo,

I'm glad you posted that.

The 7 episodes are in 7 separate .m2ts files of 3 - 3.5 GiB, with 4 chapters each.

MakeMKV reads them as one 21.4GB title with 28 chapters.

The chapter information is stored in separate meta files, though, so how do I keep the chapter info? Or I don't?

Re: All main episodes show up as one title/file.

Thanks Woodstock, I saw that. I'm using mkvtoolnix (aka mkvmerge) to do this with my BluRay rips, and it's as simple as saying "split before chapters 5,9,13,17,21,25,29" It's not terrible, but it is a bit frustrating having to use MakeMKV to rip the title then passing it though mkvtoolnix ...

Re: All main episodes show up as one title/file.

It's funny, I found this thread looking for a way to rip this exact collection ("Clone Wars"). Thing is, my Season 1 was individual episodes, but Season 2 discs seem to have one big file so far. I'd like to request the ability to rip groups of chapters into individual files directly from M...
