Re: Unexpected Bonus Files
If you go to the "episodes" submenu on the first disc, then select the first episode "esteemsters" you'll see that it gives two options, with "Daria Day intro" and without. That is another way this is accomplished. I've seen both. Sometimes. before you even do a "...

Re: Unexpected Bonus Files
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone else has run across something like this before, with the Daria discs, or anything else. I can't imagine why those files would be on the disc, since the only way to access them would be to rip them to individual files. Actually they are accessible via the DVD/Blu-ray ...

Re: UPDATE ON UHD BD FOR PC!!!!
If you eventually are able to do that, will HDR capability be lost. Is a UHD player required to be able to use the various HDR formats?LuekG wrote:That's exactly what I'm hoping to do, back up my 4k films for easy playback and to host smooth running film nights in my screening room for friends and fam!

Players built before Feb 2013 did not have to detect Cinavia.boe_d wrote:The older oppo 103 does not have this issue when streaming the same MKV file.

Re: Frame Sizes
Guess my point is, if the actual frame size is 720 pixels by 480 pixels, and my monitor is actually 1920 x 1080 pixels, native pixel>pixel display would be only about 40% of the screen. And if "expanded" to 1920x1080 it would be faking the resolution. My understanding is that BD (or 1080p...

Re: AACS 2.0
I have a 21:9 monitor, and normal blu-rays are only 1920:800 or so, they have to scale up to 2560:1080 for me. First off a 21:9 monitor is 2520:1080, if the vertical dimension is 1080. Secondly, all mainstream Blu-rays are 1920:1080. The 1920:800 you are seeing is the result of the movie being 2.40...

Re: Atmos Sound Tracks and UHD BDs?
Not only that, but a normal Blu-ray ROM drive will not read a UHD 4K disc.yorgo wrote:Just to be clear...you're not trying to rip or back up Deadpool 4K are you? If yes, neither MakeMKV nor any other ripping software can crack the encryption and rip/back up a UHD disc at this time.

Re: aspect ratio not maintained after ripping bluray
You still have all of the M$ window dressing, so VLC cannot fill all of the display on the left/right because of the displaying of the 1080 vertical pixels. When playing files with VLC, just double-click on the video image and VLC will get rid of all of the M$ window dressing and fill the screen. In...

Re: Center Channel Noise
That is really strange, since the audio is not decoded into baseband raw files (WAV for example) and then recoded. It is impossible to only affect a single channel when copying an audio stream.
What is going on is very baffling.

Re: Atmos Sound Tracks and UHD BDs?
I have a usenet account and i have found a few UHD movies that have been ripped and converted into MKV files 60GB+files. I have been searching for a few days now on how to do it myself to backup the one one UHD movie that I have. Sorry, but you will not be able to back up any UHD releases yet. What...

Comment on new Streetlock protection
I read Mike's posting about the new Streetlock. Good grief, what won't they try next. IMHO, any person who buys one of these discs and gets caught up having to fetch the stupid key manually should return the disc as defective. If enough customers return their purchases, maybe, just maybe the ...
