I have resolved this by using MKVtoolNIX - it seems much simpler than trying to do it in MakeMKV.
The combination of the two tools seems to work well.

Re: Screen format
I have not found this with other ones and so suspect it is a function of the film itself

Re: Automation
Hi,
Many thanks.
Sorry to be dumb but what do I do with this?
I'm literate but not a programmer. If there is a little guidance that would help a lot.
All the best,
Nick

Subtitles
I have just started on the ripping process and when checking I found that the more recent DVD's all had (English) subtitles. I had chosen the topmost largest file as my rule for selection. I would ideally like to stream this via a Roku from a hard drive, and so the final format will make a big difference.
Thanks

Automation
Hi, As I have about 800 DVD's to rip I am looking to streamline the process as much as I can. Is there a way with Make MKV to get it to watch a drive, and when a disk is inserted begin the rip, to a template set of preferences, and then spit the disk out when it is complete. This would be great! p.s...

File Naming
Hi, I have just started using MakeMKV and it seems a revelation after many other products. I have a great many DVD's I'd like to rip. When doing the first it seems to have a default output name of title001, and so the next one tries to overwrite it. Is there a way of giving a rule to file naming? I ...
