Re: Jaws 3 - 3D and 2D?
The disc has left and right eye, and then for the 2D version, it just plays the left eye from the 3D version. You can see this according to the segment numbers you gave in your post. If there were to be a different 2D version on the same disc, it would be a different segment number. Plus, now instea...

Re: Manual download of new BD-Data?
On its own, MakeMKV supports the latest version of AACS, which is what you need for Blu-rays. UHDs are a different story, as every new UHD requires data to be downloaded. However, if you cannot connect your PC to the internet for even a few seconds to force MakeMKV to get the latest data it needs up...

Dune 1984 4K UHD Arrow Video
Figured I'd start a thread for anyone who comes searching, to say that MakeMKV supports this title.
It's a BD-100, was able to back it up without any issues.

Re: Use MakeMKV new integration with VLC to get correct playlist/segment list
For any recent Disney/Pixar/Marvel/Star Wars movie, and now others who have started using this convention as well, they are practically always playlist 800 for the English version. The subsequent playlists (801, 802, etc) of the same run time and number of chapters will be versions that have on-scre...

Re: What is the correct play list [insert title here]?
In case anyone hasn't noticed yet, the "new"(est) version of MakeMKV, 1.16.4, was released back on July 7th and is said to offer "Much better support for discs with Java playlist obfuscation." I've only tested this on one disc so far, but I found that 1.16.4 correctly identified ...

Re: Chaos Walking
Praise be to MakeMKV 1.16.4! "Much better support for discs with Java playlist obfuscation" It has correctly identified the correct playlist for the Canada retail Blu-ray (in combo pack with 4K, UPC 191329204429). Title information Name: Chaos Walking (English) Comment: FPL_MainFeature Sou...

Re: Harry potter titles? Which one?
Should I pick the one with 40 chapters? I generally look at the packaging for the answer, although if you bought a later release of this film, it's the same disc but the packaging may exclude all the details. I'll also check the Blu-ray.com review to find the answers. As a last resort, I'll put the...

Re: Can I make an mkv file from a Toast image file?
MakeMKV doesn't support .toast files. You could try extracting the contents of the .toast file to get the original contents of the discs, but even then MakeMKV may not be able to open them. MakeMKV generally requires the original disc, or the folder generated by its own backup function.

Re: Chaos Walking
For the Canada retail Blu-ray (in combo pack with 4K, UPC 191329204429), MakeMKV identifies 00535.mpls as "FPL_MainFeature" but it's clearly wrong, the first segment 502 is in the middle of the movie. Name: Chaos Walking (English) Comment: FPL_MainFeature Source file name: 00535.mpls Durat...

Re: Arrow endoed files order
There are two factors, the authoring order - a lot of the time it’s good, but sometimes it’s not - and the order that MakeMKV presents the tracks. MakeMKV tried to find the main title for movies, so as a result it can put TV episodes out of order. I recommend checking out the Default Output File Nam...

Re: Ultrawide Monitor for Watching MKV Files
Both Blu-rays (1920x1080) and UHDs (3840x2160) have a fixed aspect ratio of 16:9 aka 1.78:1, even if the movie content itself has a less tall aspect ratio such as 2.4:1, in that case the video on the disc actually has black bars encoded in on the top and bottom. In order to take advantage of your mo...
