Re: work around a bad 3D source
I have an ISO that is giving me fits. I couldn't even find logs created by MakeMKV until I turned on debug logs in the settings then re-ran it. It failed on the creation right before it would have completed. Of course it deletes the file it created so I can't even try to see if it works to begin wit...

Re: 3D Full Frame MVC player
The OSMC product does look interesting! But, where did you find the $120 price? It’s listed on their site for GBP 107.10, which I believe is closer to $147. I was quoting a price from memory on what I paid for it. It goes on sale periodically and you may be better off waiting if that's the case, bu...

Re: 3D Full Frame MVC player
There are three Kodi-based players I know of that can handle 3D-MVC. LibreELEC is a special build of Kodi that is stripped own and on the Raspberry Pi3B+ it will handle 3D-MVC all day. Works great, but you are limited to the capability of the Pi3B+. No 4K. No HD audio etc. They have a build for the ...

Re: 3D is broken on the 1.15.2
Thanks for all the info, especially this. OK, for a newbie like me, say I've successfully backed up 3D mkv files and want to view them on my tv. What is the best solution to successfully do that, if plex and other apps can't read the 3D mkv file? I don't know what kind of player you are trying to u...

Re: 3D is broken on the 1.15.2
So, it sounds like for 3D, I still have the open question of whether 3D is completely broken on the 1.15.2 release of MakeMKV. I tried to go to an older version (1.15.1) but got an error when I installed it saying I needed to register to be able to run it, or else needed to install the latest versi...

Re: 3D is broken on the 1.15.2
I saw this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/1wl478/3d_naming_convention/?st=iv9htecm&sh=4c43a0a4 which I found via this plex thread https://forums.plex.tv/t/proper-naming-of-3d-content/149375/2 If you read these carefully you'll see that they both refer to the Orca client for Samsun...

Re: 3D is broken on the 1.15.2
2. I know this is slightly tangential, so please don't bring your wrath down on me for asking, but I saw that there's a plex naming convention specific for 3D movies where you can label them as top/bottom or side-by-side. Is there a way through MakeMKV or some database to actually know what method ...

Re: 3D is broken on the 1.15.2
1.15.2 removed the "legacy" MKV 3D descriptors , that was a mistake. Next version 1.15.3 will put them back. Any version (except 1.15.2) can rebuild these descriptors - so if you have an MKV file made by 1.15.2 and it is unplayable, just open this file with 1.15.1 and save to another MKV ...

Re: 3D is broken on the 1.15.2
Same for me with Kodi. The MVC codec does not get used with rips from 1.15.2, they just use the standard H264 codec and show in 2D. How do you know if the rip was encoded properly? I use MediaInfo to analyze files, but I ripped one using v1.15.2.: Capture2.JPG This info was taken on the exact same ...

I think this is related to topic because it specifically involves drive capability. I have an LG-WH14NS40 with the following info as per MakeMKV: Drive Information Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BD-RE WH14NS40 Revision: 1.01 Serial number: K92E3OJ4053 Firmware date: 2113-04-04 23:25 Bus encryption...

Wow! How exactly do you use this? This thread is quite long so if the instructions are in here, I'm sorry if I missed them!jonghotti wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 7:17 amHere's the contents of the usb stick I use: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1393Iu ... jCb1TbarW4
Nothing specifically says 12 in it's title though.

I purchased this drive and backed up my "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" without issue after following the procedure on how to do it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E7B08MS/ It arrived with firmware rev-1.02 Of course I can't guarantee that any subsequent drives they ship would be identic...
