Re: Drive doesn't reliably rip UHD discs

Problem has been solved. I bought a new drive (WH16NS40) and got it to the right firmware version (1.02) and I'm not having any problems now. Puss in Boots worked fine and Jurassic Park (which used to fail) is ripping OK as I type. The drive I had was 7 years old so that might have been a lot of the...

Drive doesn't reliably rip UHD discs

My LG WH16NS60 drive fails to rip most UHD discs. As an example, I was unable to rip the latest Puss In Boots movie but I had no trouble ripping SpiderMan No Way Home. I can only rip two of the 5 Jurassic Park movies in my boxed set. I get errors like these until the rip finally fails. Is this a fir...

Errors ripping UHD discs

I have a WH16NS60 drive that is supposed to be able to read UHD discs according to the guide in these forums. It seem the disc fine and attempts to rip the files but I get errors like these until the rip eventually fails. Most 4K discs fail in this same way but I have been able to rip a few. After t...

I think I screwed up

I have an LG BD-RE WH14NS40 drive that was running 1.02 firmware and LibreDrive was enabled and working. I was having some trouble reading a couple of BluRay discs and just happened to be building a couple new systems for friends. I decided to try the bad disc in their drive and had no trouble. So I...

Re: The Wayback Machine - Avatar Extended Collector's Edition

This worked perfectly for me after I replaced what appears to have been a faulty disc. Thanks!

Re: Issue with Star Trek TNG Season 3, Disc 1, Episode 1

I have cleaned it, first with a microfiber cloth but now with dish detergent and microfiber. It seems to fail at different locations even in the same drive. It is an internal SATA drive under Windows 10. I ripped every other disc in the set without any issues though some ripped very slowly. When I c...

Issue with Star Trek TNG Season 3, Disc 1, Episode 1

I'm getting an error ripping the first episode of this disc. I tried playing it in my BluRay player and there didn't appear to be any issues so I suppose I can't try to get a replacement disc. Can someone tell me if these errors are physical issues with the disc or something else? MakeMKV v1.10.2 wi...

Re: Independence Day 20th Anniversary Edition

Thanks. I'll just keep checking here or try ripping it every few days. No big hurry.

Re: Independence Day 20th Anniversary Edition

Is there someway to know when I can try ripping this disc again or do I just try it every few days? I'm still seeing the error as of 8:23am May 13th.

Re: auto eject?

I hate to be that guy but "Me too!". When I am ripping a bunch of discs (as I am right now) it would be nice to have some sort of indication that the rip is done and ejecting the disc would be a great way to do that. A beep would be nice too but those are easy to miss and since I have to e...
