Mr Selfridge, S4D1
When trying to rip Ep. 1-3 of season 4 of Mr. Selfridge, MakeMKV only identifies Episode 1 & 2. Ep. 3 is not listed. Episode 1 & 2 rip correctly and play as expected. Here is the log entry... Using direct disc access mode Calculated BUP offset for VTS #0 does not match one in IFO header. Tit...

Re: Why is video aspect off?
Many THANKS to ‘ndjamena’ for providing the basic steps to fix errant aspect ratio settings in MKV files as they are ripped from DVDs. Being retired from engineering, I have a tendency to put things in orderly steps and procedures. And, I hate the thought of others bumbling along, repeating the same...

Re: Why is video aspect off?
'ndjamena', thank you for the thoughtful response. Not what I was hoping for, [sigh] but understandable... and logical. In my cursory research today, I note that there is a mixed acceptance of the technique (MKVCleaver or gMKVExtractGUI, followed by Restream). The main concern is proper video/audio ...

Re: Why is video aspect off?
I have the same issue as 'kimski' - a couple DVD sets (Foyle's War, for example), create an MKV file that appears as a 4:3 aspect ratio when played on Kodi (v15rc) or PowerDVD (v15). It's supposed to be a 16:9 AR. I understand what 'ndjamena' is saying, but was hoping for an easier solution. Does on...

Re: Anamorphic DVD Is Forced to 4:3 Ratio
While I was hoping to receive a response to point me in the right direction, I ultimately got there through a couple hours of searching, frustration, poking, trial and error. There may be a more elegant method of correcting aspect ratio issues, but with my fumbling and bumbling, this is where I ende...

Anamorphic DVD Is Forced to 4:3 Ratio
A week or so ago, I posted an erroneous message about what I thought was MakeMKV occasionally forcing 16:9 DVD's to 4:3. I deleted that post this morning as I have realized the issue is really MakeMKV forcing anamorphic (1.85:1) DVD's to a full-screen (4:3) aspect ratio. This causes the images to ap...

Profiles, Selection Rules... How to?
I have been using MakeMKV for sometime and enjoy the results. I feel I am now at a point where I am ready to create/modify Profiles and tweak the Selection Rules. For the life of me, I cannot find any references or information on the acceptable syntax for Selection Rule criteria and entries. Can som...
