Re: mkv from 1.9.2 not filling the screen
No problems Ripman; glad you resolved that one. Ndjamena - thanks for that feedback - still a bit beyond my abilities at the moment but I will have a good read of that link and see if I can sort it. At the moment using MKV to create a file on disc then running through HB is working for the majority ...

Re: mkv from 1.9.2 not filling the screen
I am also experiencing similar issues with older DVDs (Black Rain, Dances with Wolves for two examples). I also had a similar problem with a newer, but not a 'latest' DVD (Fantastic 4) for which I was able to create an MKV direct from Disc using Handbrake (see http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic...

Re: [Feature Request] Renaming output files
Many thanks for your initial an follow-up posting Yugatha I have seen your other post re the script - many thanks for the offer but for my purposes , if I can rename the file name (as I can now) it is stored directly to my movie folder and all is good. The only other process I do is run the MKV thro...

Re: [Feature Request] Renaming output files
Further to my last post, I think I may have stumbled on the 'sort of solution'. The 'File Name' option is only available if you first click on the title name for the Chapter/Selection in the left hand box. It would be far easier if this option was made permanently selectable no matter where you were...

Re: [Feature Request] Renaming output files
Hi Woodstock - I wish it was only that easy :) I have looked at the options under that button (drop-down menu) before;and I confirm I have Expert Mode enabled, but in my version it does not offer the same options that are shown in your linked solution/hint. The only options I get are: Name Language ...

Re: [Feature Request] Renaming output files
Just to confirm - I have enabled Expert mode and it makes no difference :) Percentage wise, the new title has worked/been retained/used about 3% of the times (I have copied about 150 movies direct from DVD/BD now) and for about 15% of the time it ignores the title completely and inserts title_t00 - ...

Re: can I change the output filename logic?
Hi all; I am new to the forum and having had a good look around it appears this naming issue is still a problem. I have enabled "Expert" mode and while I can retype a new Movie Name - for the majority of times MakeMKV simply ignores it. Sometimes it keeps the name and appends an underscore...

Yes! that feature would be nice - even when I retype the title name it is always overridden

Re: Problems with video conversion of "Fantastic Four" DVD
Thanks again, I will investigate further. I have found a second movie it has done this with "Black Rain" but in this instance it plays back the same way on PC as well as TV (via WDTV or direct from DVD). The other 10030+ I have converted to MKV seem to play nicely in the sandpit :) Appreci...

Re: Problems with video conversion of "Fantastic Four" DVD
Many thanks for the explanation Woodstock that helps demystify the issue quite a bit. I also take it that I cannot override the MKV aspect ratio setting so will investigate handbrake. Hopefully it allows/supports lossless conversion also. Strange thing is that this is the only movie that the MKVMake...

Problems with video conversion of "Fantastic Four" DVD
Hi all. I am a noobie and having done a search through the forum (search function and reading through forums) I have resorted to a direct question to the forum as I have encountered a problem that I have not seen raised previously. I am backing up my near 300 DVD collection as 'movie only' direct fr...
