Hello. It's been 5 years since the original post. Drag and drop would be a serious UX improvement.
Also, when you right-click a VIDEO_TS.IFO file and open it with MakeMKV, the program should launch with that disc open instead of a blank state.

Re: False AnyDVD error message
I am still getting this message in 2020. MakeMKV 1.14.4. Windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron laptop, no Blu-ray software installed whatsoever.

Re: Warning message about DVDFab
I literally just had a problem with an ISO ripped with DVDFab having an incorrect aspect ratio after being repackaged to MKV by MakeMKV. I had to extract the MPEG-2 video stream and patch it with DVDpatch to the correct aspect ratio, then remux with MKVToolNix.

Re: DTS-HD MA - Why are MA and Core both selectable ?
Hello from 2019 The issue is still very relevant. A lot of posters in this thread are assuming that everyone rips Blu-Rays for single-scenario playback only and that the ripper is not willing to sacrifice a little hard drive space for more flexibility in the future. That is not always the case. Imag...

Re: DTS-HD MA 7.1
I have a question related to this topic. Why does MakeMKV not select DTS-HD MA 7.1 by default? Instead, it selects the DTS-HD 5.1 track. I play all my MKVs on a set-top Kodi box. If 7.1 is not supported by most hardware, then I am happy to leave it out and save hard drive space, but I want to know i...

Re: [Feature Request] Renaming output files
You shouldn't have to use Expert Mode to avoid confusing file names. This should be enabled by default in Dummy Mode.
And please, no underscores in file names. What is this, 1996?

Re: Errors with ripped DVD's
I was having the same issue running XBMC on Wii (aka WiiMC) and did not think to check this forum first. You are right about Wii's WiFi signal though. I had a discussion with some folks on Nintendo Forums about this, and one thing that definitely helped was enabling compatibility mode on the router....

Re: MKV Help Please - Extracting Chapters!
No need to re-encode anything. Just use the script in this post.

It's super easy and takes a minute or two.

Re: [Feature Request] Renaming output files
With the "auto" or "semi-auto" naming settings MakeMKV will name a FOLDER by disc name. As for automation MakeMKV comes with command-line version. Creating yet another folder is not as good of a solution as simply naming the MKV file the same as the parent folder in which VIDEO_...

Re: Feature Request - File Split by Chapter
Tried the new feature, and it's a lot more difficult than running one of the scripts provided by posters above. Since MakeMKV is a program with a very intuitive and simple GUI, it makes no sense to learn complicated commands just to split a DVD by chapters. It'd be much easier to check a box in the ...

Re: Lots of duplicate tracks on new Blu-rays
Ripman: that doesn't seem to be an issue in Tom & Jerry. There are no options when selecting that could affect playback in that collection.
I ended up removing the duplicate tracks. It was a bit of a pain to do it for all 37 cartoons, but I got through it.

Drag and drop
Would it be possible for you to add drag and drop support to MakeMKV? My VIDEO_TS folders are all in different directories across different drives, and it would be much easier to drop an IFO file into MakeMKV than browse to each one internally. It would be similar to how mkvmerge works. I've always ...

Did you guys figure out what the problem was? I'm having the exact same issue with the Tom and Jerry Blu-Ray.
