Re: Dodgy drive?

Ta, I've tried blowing it out and will see what happens, cotton bud knowledge is limited to not putting it into my ear canal. As its only 6 months old I'm pretty sure it should be under guarantee anyways.

Re: Dodgy drive?

Thanks for the reply. To clean it, is it just a blast of compressed air or is it worth buying one if those cleaning discs? I did give the computer a good clean out the other day, so perhaps I blasted some dust into the drive, it's only 6 moths old, so unlikely to be a build up.

Dodgy drive?

Trying to rip a Bluray, tried three times but keeps on failing with the following error: Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:441E' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM. Tried the Pledge trick, no luck. This is with a Pioneer BDR-209D I've got twin Bluray drives, so I ripped it with a LG UHRNS30 and w...

Re: Fatal error

Thanks, read that in one of your previous posts, so had already tried the Pledge trick, and increasing the re-reads to 25. Looks like the disc is knackered, looks perfect, although I know that's no indicator!

Fatal error

Excuse my ignorance, but if a file refuses to rip with the following error, is that a dodgy disc?
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/01018.m2ts' at offset '9905369088'
Thanks

Changing file names

I've got a Panasonic TV, which has a software block on decoding MKV files. If you rename the file as .mp4, then they play fine. I usually do this at ripping stage under file name, but on one disc today, the file name option is removed, and only the computer generated name and the metadata language s...

Re: upgrading to new version

If I delete 1.9, then restart the machine, then 1.91 instals fine.

upgrading to new version

I'm trying to upgrade to 1.91. I've deleted MakeMKV, then reinstalled from the website, but when I run the program it still says 1.90 started, and gives me a link to upgrade to 1.91. When I go to uninstall it says 1.91 is installed. Everything working fine, just curious!

Re: Bluray drive sort of stops working

Just swapped the drive over with a Pioneer drive, and that works fine, guess the LG must have gone to Bluray heaven :(

Re: Bluray drive sort of stops working

Just ripped a DVD no problem, it will also play DVDs, but still refuses to see Blurays. As far as I'm aware nothing should have changed from when the machine was ripping Blurays quite happily.

Bluray drive sort of stops working

I've been happily ripping Blurays to MKV using an LG UH12NS30. Up until yesterday. Now, the drive just refuses to have anything to do with Blurays, MKV says 'opening disc' thinks about for a longish period of time, and then report 'no disc'. With CDs its fine. Is it possible that just the Bluray par...
