Re: Extracting subtitles
As an FYI regarding CCs: If you’re using the MKVToolnix GUI or mkvextract or mkvmerge to mux CCs that have been converted to srt => be sure to use the “engage keep whitespace” option to preserve fixed-width text subs. I asked Mosu to change that about 6 months ago specifically for CCs. (Tbh - it doe...

Re: DVD ISO with MakeMKV
I set the path in the preferences to the MakeMKV install dir. No CCs on this disc. Thanks again. I’ll post at the end of the CC thread I see. Re: DVD ISO with MakeMKV
Ah new CC since 1.14 I see - very cool. I’ll try and let you know. I’ll probably use mkvextract and mkvinfo to get the track id. Thanks again.

Hi. Thanks a lot for the tip. I checked.
This one’s pretty obscure tbh - 70s mini series. Washington behind closed doors.

DVD ISO with MakeMKV
It’s been awhile - still really great sw. Win10 MakeMKV 1.17.4 If I use MakeMKV to create a decrypted ISO of a DVD, can I mount the resultant ISO in Win10 so I can pull out the VOB files? The DVD I am working with doesn’t have subtitles (VobSub) but does have embedded CCs and I’d like to extract tho...

Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden
Had a similar problem that I ran into today. I put the thread under the BD section. https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=27803&p=120713#p120713 I got it to work by unplugging the USB BD drive and rebooting. My drive info is in the other thread, which I linked in the previous ...

Re: Cinema Libre Ukraine on Fire BD
Hi. Thanks. I unplugged the USB BD drive and rebooted. It worked fine.
This was one of the suggestions from Mike the Admin in the "code 3" thread, which I've put below.

I've seen some of the LIbre Drive posts from June-2020, so I will try some of the options explained in those threads. Drive info: Drive Information OS device name: F: Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BDDVDRW CP50NS20 Revision: 1.00 Serial number: MZ6E9PF2736 Firmware date: 2114-09-04 15:12 Bus encryp...

Cinema Libre Ukraine on Fire BD
Hi everyone. Long time for sure. MakeMKV 1.16.3. I realize this is a few versions behind. I got the BD Ukraine on Fire from the CInema Libre store. It's a real BD not a BDR. I put the disc in and I get a "code 3". Sometimes drives are "picky" with certain discs, and that's the fe...

Re: auro-3d question
I do not see any issues with your dumps and/or MakeMKV . You have 2 types of tracks: PCM - this can be extracted or transcoded by MakeMKV. DTS-HD MA - those contain core + HD track. Core track is 48khz 5.1 track, HD extends it to lossless 192khz. If you select HD track, you'll get 192khz. If you se...

Re: auro-3d question
As the previous posts explain, I have had some issues when working with BluRay Audio (BDA) discs. I tried using MakeMKV with the flac profile, and that gave "thread emulation" errors. As such, I have run the BDA through MakeMKV in TESTDUMP mode, and the following information may be useful ...

Re: auro-3d question
I used unix split(1) to create a 25mb sample file. None of the other typical tools could split a sample: handbrake; ffmpeg; tsmuxer; mkvtoolnix.
sample (25mb - opens in MkvToolnix 9.3.1 as dts@192khz):

Re: auro-3d question
I went back and looked at all of the BD audio rips I processed with MakeMkv, and they all have this same issue: DTS audio tracks with sample rates greater than 48khz (e.g., 96khz, 192khz) get reduced to 48khz sample rates when re-processed/muxed (e.g., handbrake, ffmpeg, tsmuxer, MKVToolnix). The re...

Re: auro-3d question
Thanks for your post. Here are some drop box links that show what I am seeing in MakeMKV with this particular BD. I see what you mean - the "Auro 3d" track is the dts 7.1 + lpcm stereo. Please also notice the DTS-192KHz audio track info I posted in the 2nd screen-shot. If I remux this audi...
