Reloaded Yosemite and it did not solve the issue. Purchased a Asus SBC 06D2XU. Mounts Blu and DVD no problem. Ripping a movie currently so I will see how it goes. Hope this helps anyone looking for a drive.

SO I purchased a Asus SBC 06d2x-u Mounts blue ray and dvd's no issues.

Has anyone had this problem? I have a LG blu ray external drive and a internal lite on blu ray drive that connected to a external usb enclosure. Lite on drive will mount dvd no blu ray. So I found the DASPI sticky. Installed 1.5 with the terminal instructions. Now is showing DASPI 1.5, no disc inserted. I tried those methods above and about pulled my hair out. At the time I had a core 2 duo iMac and hand break would take all night to rip. Oops forget something or wrong encode, another night gone.
