Re: Video quality when backing up to blu-ray discs is reduced
Surely PaulineSinclair is not talking about the MKV files alone. I would guess that she is using some program or another to compress the files down to fit onto a 25 GB Bluray blank disc, which is where the loss of quality is coming from. Her settings on whatever "shrinking" program she is ...

Re: My white whale-descriptive audio
05/21/19 I write this in case someone else may experience the same problem that I did with "Descriptive Audio", and the following may help. Then again....... Anyway, while I greatly appreciate the advice from Grauhaar and Woodstock, my ultimate goal was to create a Bluray copy of the movie...

My white whale-descriptive audio
I purchase original Bluray's of movies and then make 1 Bluray copy using a Verbatim 25 GB disc for my own personal use, playing only the copy in my stand alone Bluray/DVD/CD player. On only 2 Bluray copies do I have this problem. Bell de Jour-1967 and now recently Capernaum-2018. Here's the problem:...

Re: Bluray players that'll play a processed Blu-ray?
I did not know that. Thanks for the tip Morbius!
By the way, you wouldn't have a suggestion as to which 4K Blu-ray player I should buy, would you?

Bluray players that'll play a processed Blu-ray?
Has anyone tried successfully playing back decrypted Blu-rays (the back up discs that some of us make to keep our originals in pristine shape) on any of the new non-Sony Blu-ray players lately? My process is: 1. I use MakeMKV to produce unencrypted BDMV and Certificate files 2. I use BD Rebuilder to...

Isle of Dogs and Wreck-It Ralph - Jumping and Out of Sync
My copies of Wreck-It Ralph and Isle of Dogs, both animated movies, "jump" every few seconds and the audio is out of sync. Weird, since all my other copies of other movies do not exhibit this behavior. Anyone else experience this and possibly have a cure? My Process: 1. I use MakeMKV to pr...

Re: "Men In Black" and converting MKV files using BD Rebuild
As reported in my original post above, using BD Rebuilder's ability to import MKV files that MakeMKV created by, in BD Rebuilder, going to "Files", "Import", and then "Video Files (MKV etc)", after BD Rebuiilder then did its thing after the import, Imgburn then was succ...

"Men In Black" and converting MKV files using BD Rebuilder
"Men In Black" and converting MKV files using BD Rebuilder I did not know that MakeMKV could do this.................. But here's a little background first: For some time now, I've been unable to make a blu-ray hard disc backup of "Men In Black"-the first one. See my 01/15/2015 p...

Version 1.9.9 best ever
I just have to thank the maker of MakeMKV, version 1.9.9. It is the best version by far to date. I've used it for many different movies without a hitch. I was having problems with other parts of the process, but no problems whatsoever with MakeMKV. And by upgrading the firmware on my blu ray optical...

Re: Escape Plan (2013)
Sorry, I was wrong. It's definitely not 426. That one takes a later scene and places it out of order in an earlier time in the movie. Almost looks like a flashback that is repeated later, but 426 is just not it. Gonna try 578 now.

Re: Escape Plan (2013)
This is probably not correct, but I went to this site:
http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/escape-plan-film
which shows a run time of 115 minutes and 29 seconds, and thus I chose 00426.
Hopefully, I'll get a chance to watch the film this weekend and report on whether have a perfect copy or not.

Re: Fatal Error on Disney Diamond Edition Blu Ray
My experience has been similar to Woodstock's in that you get no response to your email, but you often see a fix down the road on a new version. Thus, for this site, I have adopted the maxim, "All things in due time." Really, if you think about it, for one guy to have to cover all these is...

Re: 1.9.3 gets stuck freezes hangs copying file?
May I just say that the super-fast turn around in producing 1.9.4 was most appreciated. No more problems, and an indication to me that the author does indeed care about his "customers." I will restate that I feel that we are most fortunate to have such a person to cover so many bases in th...

Re: 1.9.3 gets stuck freezes hangs copying file?
I don't think we should be telling Mike what he'd better or better not do. A workaround has already been posted in this thread (use an older version), no need to get snippy. I agree with you mew1033. MakeMKV is an outstanding product that continually needs to be updated to cope with whatever commer...

Re: West Side Story - SOLVED!!!
Solved: Making a backup of West Side Story. Originally I had problems making a backup of West Side Story. I used MakeMKV version 1.9.2 and used the "Backup" mode where files (NOT MKV files) are created that BD Rebuilder uses to reconstruct and shrink, to be followed by Imgburn using the BD...
