I've e-mailed you (2 days ago) and sent you a PM (today), but maybe you aren't getting them? I'm looking for a ready-to-use drive (with enclosure) to be sent to Canada.

Re: Asus SBC-06D2X-U
You can simply buy an internal drive + an enclosure. That's all external drives are. An internal drive within an enclosure. Just that the manufacturer/distributor puts it in an enclosure for you. I'm aware, and I've done that before. I just figure if I can get an external drive as easy as an intern...

Re: Asus SBC-06D2X-U
I was aware of that list, but they're all internal drives (except the BE16NU50 which I can't find in stock) and I was hopeful for this external drive.
Thanks for the feedback. You've saved me a trip to the store

Asus SBC-06D2X-U
I've seen some mention of the Asus SBC-06D2X-U in this forum, but no clear sense of whether or not it's UHD friendly. It's currently on sale at my local Staples, and being an external drive it's attractive to me. I know I can return it if it doesn't work, but maybe someone here has some insight befo...

Re: AppleTV 4K
I'm posting in the Handbrake forum as well. I just know that Handbrake isn't the only game in town, so I'm hoping by posting here I'll get responses from people having success with other conversion tools.

AppleTV 4K
Many years I’ve used MakeMKV to rip plenty of blu-rays, convert with Handbrake, and play them on my AppleTV 3 in perfect 5.1 surround on my Pioneer system. This month I upgraded to the AppleTV 4K and a Denon 7.1 system. The only blu-ray I have with a 7.1 track is “Pans Labyrinth”. I used MakeMKV to ...

Re: Foreign Language Subtitles
Yes it is! I think the worst Blu-ray I've encoded is Avengers in terms of the correct subtitle track being hidden amongst other subtitle tracks. At least I'd seen Avengers in the theatre so I knew what scene to check in the preview.theOtherDave wrote:It's even more annoying than described...

Sorry for not understanding... in my backup folder, where would I look for these tracks?ndjamena wrote:If one of the forced subtitle tracks is still in the output file then that SHOULD be what you're looking for.

Re: Foreign Language Subtitles
I know that MakeMKV is ripping all the subtitle tracks into the MKV file. However, I'm then taking the MKV file and running it through Handbrake to make an HD m4v file for my AppleTV. And there's the problem. I need to manually select the subtitle track for Handbrake to embed it. However, if I haven...

Foreign Language Subtitles
Sometimes as a gift I'll receive a blu-ray of a movie I haven't seen yet. A couple times I've converted the disc with MakeMKV/Handbrake, but when I watch the movie I realize there's scenes with a foreign language and I don't get the subtitles because I didn't know to include them in the conversion. ...
