Just installed LG WH16NS60, PC keeps rebooting

EDIT: Do not waste your time reading this. I don't know what the heck is going on over here, lol. Either my power company is having issues or this drive made all the power in my house go out, I don't know. The power went out, then after about an hour came back on. Just seems very odd that the power ...

Why does remuxing (w/o removing anything) change file size?

So I have a blu-ray that I ripped to mkv using MakeMKV and its file size was 12,066,915,621 bytes. It has 4 audio tracks, 3 of which are commentaries. I opened this .mkv file using mkvmergeGUI and took the 3rd track and moved it up so it's now the 2nd track. That's it. Then I clicked 'remux.' My new...

Another Dolby Atmos question (regarding playback) [SOLVED]

I searched the forums and MakeMKV can rip Dolby TrueHD Atmos just fine. I have a question however, with playback. I have the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) on blu-ray and it has Dolby Atmos as an audio track. MakeMKV shows it as being a TrueHD Atmos 7.1 track. Ok great. I rip the movie an...

A couple of questions about a few Dolby codecs.

I'm ripping the U.S. version of TMNT (the 2003 CGI movie) on blu-ray, and it has Dolby TrueHD audio. From what I understand, Dolby TrueHD does NOT work like DTS-HD Master Audio with the core + extension. If you rip ONLY the Dolby TrueHD stream and you try to play your movie in a player that does not...

How to tell how many Dolby Atmos ceiling channels there are?

I'm sure many of you know about Dolby Atmos. It supports typical surround sound, with the addition of speakers intended to be placed up high, near the ceiling. I've seen it this type of surround sound described as 7.1.2 or 7.1.4, meaning 7 surround speakers, 1 subwoofer, and 2 or 4 ceiling speakers....

Any hope for MakeMKV & Java based picture-in-picture?

Some blu-ray movies have an option where you can watch a movie with a video of commentary as pop-up picture-in-picture (Groundhog Day) or even little trivia and facts about the movie (Back to the Future). This is done through Java and at specified timestamps during the movie, the Java code will tell...

Re: A question about DTS-HD Master Audio tracks.

Ok, so one more explain-like-I'm-five question...just to make sure I'm understanding correctly. I recently tried to play one of these .mkv files using the Xbox One's Media Player app which supports .mkv playback. I did not hear any sound. Are either of these a correct understanding as to what happen...

A question about DTS-HD Master Audio tracks.

Mr. Woodstock, the resident guru, I have another question for you! (or anyone else who understands audio codecs) Hopefully it is so elementary, it will be easier for you to just answer it instead of typing up an annoyed response. :P I'm curious (again) to know how something works with regards audio ...

Re: Why doesn't MakeMKV rip advertisements and trailers?

what do you have for the "Minimum title length" in preferences? Hm, actually, I have set it to 0. And when ripping the blu-ray, I did in fact end up with some very small files, one of which was only 281kb and 5 seconds long. It was a simple image that said 'Please put on your 3D glasses.'...

Why doesn't MakeMKV rip advertisements and trailers?

Hello, apologies if this has been asked before, and I'm sure everyone will say it's totally pointless to rip that junk, but I'm just trying to satisfy a curiosity and understand how things work. So I recently placed the USA 2D edition of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles blu-ray movie into an Xbox On...

My .mkv files much larger than what's floating around.

Hi, This is my first time posting and am new to ripping blu-rays using MakeMKV, so I apologize if this is a totally rudimentary question. When I rip one of my blu-ray movies, say for instance, The Simpsons Movie, I'll end up with a bunch of .mkv files, one of which will be about 27GB and be the actu...
