Re: Segfault with DVD in drive
Once it had the license the segfault didn't occur. Note - instead of using the ~/.Makemkv/settings.conf I ran makemkvcon reg KEY Strangely this did not create the .Makemkv directory but did apparently put the key somewhere that makemkvcon was apparently happy with. I did this on two machine and it w...

Re: How to add license for a machine that only runs makemkvcon
Thanks. Between that thread and some comments elsewhere I realized I should not look at the man page online at sites I know nothing about but rather I should run makemkvcon --help which showed an option makemkvcon reg KEY Running that command appears to have solved the segfault problem in my other t...

Re: Segfault with DVD in drive
I think if the instance of MakeMKV you're using is properly licensed, you won't get the 'your application is too old' message. You'll only get the notice that a newer version is available. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Very possibly, at least for the 'too old' message. The problem is...

Re: Segfault with DVD in drive
Make sure that you either have write access to device \"/dev/sr0\", are member of \"cdrom\" group or have CAP_SYS_RAWIO enabled. Are you in the cdrom group? Run 'groups' Yes, I believe so: mark@science:~$ groups mark adm cdrom sudo dip plugdev users lpadmin sambashare mark@scien...

How to add license for a machine that only runs makemkvcon
For a server type machine with no X on it, but makemkvcon installed, how do I provide my license number?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Segfault with DVD in drive
I have a few machines here - 2 Kubuntu, one Ubuntu server. I get various segfaults using 1.17.4 depending on what I'm trying to do. However one consistent one I'm seeing is a Kubuntu 23.10 machine segfaults with a disc in but not when the drive is empty: With no DVD the drive I can scan the machine ...

Re: makemkv-1.17.2 stopped working completely
OK, it hasn't completely stopped working. It either has to do with a specific disc or the fact that I had a disc in the drive when starting the program. Starting the program again with nothing in the drive and then inserting a different disc it worked. Never seen this problem in the past but glad it...

makemkv-1.17.2 stopped working completely
I'm using Kubuntu 22.04.1 LTS fully updated as of yesterday. makemkv has been working fine as recently as about 3-4 days ago, but this morning it fails. I get a popup window labeled "MakeMKV BETA popup" that says 'Fatal error occurred, program will now exit.' I hit ok and the program goes ...

Re: Linux 64 Error 29 seconds into the make process
Same problem here on Kubuntu. Wasn't an issue a couple of weeks ago.
To solve choose the version you want to save. It will display audio languages and closed caption option. I deselected all except the video and English and it seems to be working.
Cheers

Re: Correct title missing in makemkv
OK, after a bunch of messing around and nothing working it dawned on me that possibly some library has changed since I last built makemkv and maybe Gentoo portage didn't catch that correctly. I rebuilt makemkv from scratch and now it works fine. Title 39 seems correct. The movie looks to be in order...

Re: Correct title missing in makemkv
Yeah, I'm pretty confused here. I ran the disc (Draft Day) in VLC again. This time the DVD menu played Title 66 so maybe I was incorrect before about Title 39. Anyway, 66 is in the list as a possibility (makemkv didn't say much other than it needed to use CellTrim, but 66 didn't end up in the menu o...

Correct title missing in makemkv
Hi, I'm looking at a DVD on my Gentoo Linux system. The DVD plays fine in VLC. It appears to play title 49. When I scan the DVD in makemkv-1.8.13 (1.8.14 is not yet available on Gentoo) makemkv shows title 48 but then doesn't provide as an option in the choices window. I.e. - in the list below there...
