Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
mike_admin described the process for adding firmware support on page 24 of this thread. See below: Here is the process for adding LibreDrive support. First time MakeMKV sees a new LibreDrive-capable drive, it would produce a firmware dump file (named something like dump_FW_8D764A026549A275718D.tgz ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Just buy the out-of-box UHD capable pioneer drives if you can, and save yourself much angst and $$. You really don't have to buy a Pioneer. I have an LG BH16NS55 which is flashed with the WH16NS60_1.02MK firmware and it has, and continues to, perform flawlessly. I have ripped over 180 UHDs so far. ...

They're pristine. If there's ever anything on them, I gently wipe them with a clean microfiber cloth then blow any residual dust off with canned air.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 7:26 am
If you get read errors try cleaning your discs! This does solve the issue 99% of the time,

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
A word of advice to those trying out this system to get their 4k discs to work: Don't buy the LG WH60NS40 drives. They're absolute junk. I bought two at the local big box store and brought them home, thinking It's best to have a spare, just in case. They both had 1.05 encrypted firmware installed. I...

1.10.7 and Virustotal
I regularly scan every program I install from the net. Ever since the release of 1.10.7, I have checked virustotal.com's analysis of the 1.10.7 package and it keeps giving me back positives. Right now, it's up to four engines that see this as a backdoor trojan. After a few days I would think the num...

Re: Ladies vs Butlers US Edition.
Unless something has changed since this title was released, the aspect ratio is correct in the MKV file. I have the first release, and it played fine in VLC. And post-processing it in handbrake also found the correct display orientation. I wonder if VLC is screwing up again? Both VLC and MPC-HC hav...

Ladies vs Butlers US Edition.
I'm having a problem getting a US version of an Anime "Ladies vs Butlers" to rip correctly. It pulls the entire thing off the disc fine, but the created mkv file is squished horizontally into some gross parody of a 3:4 aspect ratio. The file specs say the ripped file is 1920x1080, yet the ...

Re: Inside Out correct Segment Map
Anyone know the correct source files for the 2 shorts? I put in the BD and saw the "First Date" was 4:41 but I don't see any source files with that timestamp on them. The "Lava" one is 7:13 and I see a few with that time. The Lava short appears to be the same as the main feature...

Re: Downton Abbey: Season 4
Mine are messed up too. It's their copy protection. The discs work fine in the regular DVD players and even play fine with dvd player software like VLC. They introduce deliberately defective sectors and title info to confuse those "evil pirate programs". An old version of DVDFab can pull t...

Re: Multiple PGS subtitles in output not working.
20 minutes later of getting mkvtoolnix, frontend and sub converter... Thank you for leading me in the right direction, but the way. That is odd. I've never before seen an non-selectable (on physical player hardware) subtitle track before. The menus when you play the movie apparently only have the di...

Re: Multiple PGS subtitles in output not working.
I had selected both subtitle tracks (they were labelled as forced only in makemkv) and when the file is output, MediaInfo says that the file has two pgs subtitle tracks, and the players say that there are two tracks as well, but they just can't seem to be able to display the second subtitle track. N...

Multiple PGS subtitles in output not working.
First of all, greetings. I admit to being a bit of a noob on formats despite moving my owned dvds/blu-rays to my media server. I have never had occasion to add multiple subtitles to my ripped BluRays until I got Summer Wars and Wolf Children. They both have The Japanese direct translation subs on th...
