Re: 24 bit music blu ray files converted to 32 bit
Turned out I was getting a false reading from VLC. Spent a long time trying to solve a nonexistent problem.

Re: 24 bit music blu ray files converted to 32 bit
Music files ripped using makemkv in vlc showed the music files as 32 bit, mediainfoonline showed them as 24 bit, and the blu ray player showed 24 bit. VLC WAS WRONG. This led to 2 days of going down the wrong path for a solution to my play back issues. The problem I had was a setting on my Marantz a...

24 bit music blu ray files converted to 32 bit
I have ripped several music blu ray files containing lpcm 24 bit 9600 hz 5.1 to my HDD. They get converted to 32 bit files which are not supported by my receiver (marantz av 7703). The surround music is down graded to stereo. Is there a setting I need to change?

is makemkv still free?
i have been using makemkv for years. Now I need to buy a registration key to get it to work. I downloaded the previous version and the program told me it was too old and would not work. I made a new PC last month and reloaded makemkv beta. I may already have a registration key but have lost it. Is t...

Dolby TrueHD, mlp and MKV
My OPPO 103D will play MKV files from an external Hard drive, so I am converting my 5.1 music files to .MKV. However, when converting Dream Theater's Dream Theater it shows the audio file as DD (it is a Dolby TrueHD file). After a MakeMKV conversion, it won't play in VLC and Hand Brake won't recogni...

Re: Can not load version 1.8.14
Windows 7 x64 Closed GUI. Clicked on download. Asked me if I wanted to uninstall previous version. I replied yes. Installed new version 1..8.14. Rebooted. Opened up Makemkv beta and got "MakeMKV v1.8.13 win(x64-release) started". When I start the process, the log says the new version 1.8.1...

Can not load version 1.8.14
Yes, this is a noob ?, but I am registered and I can't get the latest version to load. It appears that everything is good when I download, but every time I open up Makemkv, it says that I have version 13 and version 14 is available. I went to uninstall version 13 and it says that I have version 14. ...

Re: I've lost my bits and I want them back (blu ray music fi
Ndjamena If you read what I wrote, you would know what I want. If I knew what I was doing, I would not have posted. May be a moot point. When I ran Handbrake to separate chapters, the source said I had DTS HD MA. A post from an AVS forum said that VLC can not play DTS HD MA, which is why it down gra...

I've lost my bits and I want them back (blu ray music files)
My goal is to rip/play back blu ray music files in 96/24 DTS HD 5.1 surround. The MKV files come out as DTS, sample rate of 4800 and a bit rate of 1536 kbs (according to VLC). If it ripped it properly, the bit rate should be 13824 kbs (24*96*6 channels). Instead of 96/24 I am getting 48/5 (bit sampl...

Re: Decoding DTS-HD with MakeMkv?
I am trying to do the same thing. Downloaded the .dll files from the site and pasted them to c:/programs(86)/makemkv with the other .dll's. Could not find the advance tab in view>preferences. It did not rip the file into DTS HD. My goal is to rip/play back blu ray music files in 96/24 DTS HD 5.1 sur...

Re: Can't Separate Chapters into individual files
I found a fix from a previous post. Handbrake is a free program that will separate the chapters into individual files.

Can't Separate Chapters into individual files
I have several blu ray and DVD audio discs. MKV shows that there are chapters. but I can not get it to break them out into separate files (songs). It just records the whole album as one file. How do I get it to record each Chapter (song) as one file?
