Re: Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:READ OF SCRAMBLED SECTOR WITHOUT AUTHENTICATION' occurred

Have seen powering down the PC with the offending drive(s) can clear scsi errors. Not rebooting but turning off the PC and also turning the power off at the wall for 30 plus seconds. Might not apply here, but you never know.

Ripping Hawaii Five-0

I bought a boxset of the above (2010) series and ripped it. All went well, except two episodes are cut off at the end, they just stop. I ripped the complete disks to hdd using MakeMKV then ran MakeMKV again using the index files on hdd. Might there be any thoughts please. This is for the first episo...

Re: Ripping speed

The linked thread is interesting, though I don't think I'll actually change any settings, I'd just bugger something up. It does look like its slowing when it has trouble, which is good. Was just thinking maybe it could speed back up again, maybe when its moved on to the next large file / episode. I ...

Saving despite errors

As per the above, I guess there's no (easy) way to make MakeMKV less sensitive to errors, or make it more able to save stuff anyway despite errors. Looks like I'm on the way to not being able to rip 3 episodes out of 6 off a bluray I'm doing at the moment...

Ripping speed

Sorry if this has been asked before, but am trying to rip a bluray with 6 episodes on it. It winds up to about 6x speed but then gets to a corrupted episode, three hash check errors and fails to save the file. It moves on to the next episode, which seems fine (I hope), but its sticking to 2x speed. ...

Re: A Better Way To Find The Correct Playlist/Segment Map

It seems like I get one mpls to try when playing one episode, according to Procmon while playing the physical discs. I then run MakeMKV and find the mkvs associated with those mpls numbers. But if I then run MakeMKV again and look at those mpls numbers the mkv files have changed. It then occurs that...

Re: A Better Way To Find The Correct Playlist/Segment Map

Thanks very much. I think you mentioned the hdd version ? Well I tried changing the region in vlc, using instructions which said - 'Sometimes, it may display "Mismatch between disc and player region codes" on the screen of VLC Blu-ray player. So you can follow the steps below to fix it. St...

Re: A Better Way To Find The Correct Playlist/Segment Map

Thanks for that - I'll give it a go. I guess being a vlc option it does only affect things in vlc and doesn't affect that thing I vaguely remember about being only able to change region codes a limited number of times ?

Re: A Better Way To Find The Correct Playlist/Segment Map

Now I think I've finally added the correct (64-bit) Jave, all it does is stop me playing the disc directly or its copy on hdd because its an overseas disc and hence an incompatible region.

Re: A Better Way To Find The Correct Playlist/Segment Map

I thought I should eventually try installing java and letting MakeMKV use that. So thats what I did and it said 'Using Java runtime from C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_301\bin\java.exe'.
Didn't seem to help though. Still got hundreds of mpls's and still no 00241.mpls (if it matters).

Re: A Better Way To Find The Correct Playlist/Segment Map

First time having a go at this trying to get the right playlist for Unforgotten. I tried with the copy I have on hdd using Procmon and vlc, and it seems the correct playlist is 00241.mpls, but when I use MakeMKV to find 00241, its not there but it does show 00241.mpls(2) and 00241.mpls(3), both of w...

Re: No English on one disc

Whoa. Sorry, don't know where those huge A's came from, they're supposed to be just 'colon a colon'.

Edit - seems to be fixed if I replace the colon symbol with the work 'colon'
