Re: HEVC Support
Can you please add HEVC/H265/X265 codec support? Having HEVC/H265/X265 codec support would be handy for converting the audio for mkv files with HEVC/H265/X265 video. For example you may have a mkv with HEVC/H265/X265 video and flac audio if makemkv had HEVC/H265/X265 codec support you could convert...

Re: Merging two *.MKV files but retaining audio and subtitle
What you want is MKVToolNix GUI... It works great with two part movies like the extended version of the LOTR. One of the movies in my box set gave me warnings when merging the direct MakeMKV output. So I first converted the movies with Handbrake and then merged them. That worked as expected. The onl...

Re: Title missing in writing process
Some programs can however sucessfully skip errors. I find sometimes, non-recoverable errors are so short of a brief clip, that I don't mind just skipping them. Sometimes, they are more significant, but it still nice to be able to extract the rest of the video. For example, my "What Dreams May C...

Re: Missing DVD extras from Angel box set
Based on ordering, I suspected the missing extras for season 4 where on disc 6. Sure enough, that is where I found them. When I open the same disc in DVD Shrink 3.2 it subdivides the titles on that disc under Main Movies as the Title 1, Title 2, Title 3 as the three episodes under the disc. Title 5 ...

Missing DVD extras from Angel box set
Normally I've been using makeMKV on blu-ray, but I decided to re-rip the TV series Angel from my box set. I've noticed each season after I rip everything I'm missing a few of the extra features. For example in Season 4, the previously had encoded extra features of the following length 6:51, 7:58, 39...

Re: Howto distinguish episodes?
Nothiing automatic I know of, but often times file size alone is a big clue. It is unusual for extra features to be the around the same file sizes as the episodes.

Re: Feature request - Closed Caption support
This otherwise excellent program lacks the ability to capture and process Closed Caption information - which is the only captioning available on some DVDs. I've seen a LOT of DVDs and so far the only one with CC was Dracula RC1. Can you upload a 2 min sample reauthored with DVD Shrink somewhere? I'...

Re: Howto distinguish episodes?
One thing to be very careful of is thetvdb.com lists episodes in AIRED order by default. There is a checkbox in TVRename to tell it to use DVD order. In most cases the two orderings are the same, but in the cases where it isn't such as Firefly, you'll save yourself a lot of trouble by selecting DVD ...

Re: Howto distinguish episodes?
90% of the time everything will be in the same order as the are listed in the disk labeling. Usually I play the start of the first few videos until I find what I am certain is episode 1. Then I will name the files sequentially from there using standard naming convention such as: Friends/Season 02/Fr...

Re: Finally took the plunge and purchased
I really don't want to come off sounding negative. MakeMKV is great software. If it wasn't, I certainly wouldn't be buying it while it is still in beta... I just intend this at a bit of constructive criticism. Even at 50 EUR, I think MakeMKV is worth buying. It isn't that I question the value in the...

Finally took the plunge and purchased
I've been using MakeMKV now for about 6 months. I finally took the plunge and purchased it. I probably would have purchased it sooner, but everywhere I've seen on the web indicates the price is 50 USD. But I would always see a much higher price when I'd go to the buy page. I finally realized this ev...
