Re: 3D MVC Option

Unfortunately, this is the limitation of MVC MKV files: there are so few decoding options available. Makemkv have done an awesome job of making the MVC option available, but software and hardware providers seem to be a bit behind at the moment. People have reported success using Stereoscopic Player(...

Re: 3D MVC Option

If you feed your passive display frame packed input, 1920 by 540p for each eye is what you will see. That's what your TV does, you don't need to tell it to do anything. effectively that's the same result as feeding it a HTAB 2D input, and turning the TV onto HTAB mode. I hope we can all agree on thi...

Re: 3D MVC Option

I think anyone could agree that in HTAB vs HSBS, HtAB is gonna work better on passive, but you were talking about converting MVC or HSBS to HTAB originally.

Re: 3D MVC Option

So reading what he wrote about "alternating" eyes... his solution to getting passive TVs to display full res.. is to make them active??? thats hysterical there was a lot of confusion like this on the avs forum a few years ago, people insiting that passive tvs could switch polarisation on ...

Re: 3D MVC Option

fetef ~ Not if you consider the 4th dimension, time. Just read what I said about 240hz passive. It IS possible to show full HD in passive at that speed. How comfortable it will be to watch is of the question. This has been discussed on the avs forums at length. the passive TV manufacturers won't an...

Re: 3D MVC Option

it's a bit of a no brainer with passive displays that you would want HTAB if you choose. on a passive display, that's exactly the same result as MVC. don't input HSBS, that's basically quarter full HD. passive will only output 1920x540 at best for each eye, no matter what you input, not much choice ...

Re: 3D MVC Option

If the source (blu-ray, MVC MKV, etc) contains full frame data and is directly connected to the TV (HD over USB, etc), I want the TV to be able to take two full frames and convert those into HSBS, HTAB, Interleave, patches(?), etc. Like I've said several times.. So the TV is receiving two full fram...

Re: 3D MVC Option

Indeed, direct play just means that the file is served up across the network by the server in it's untouched form, when requested by a client device. In direct play mode, plex server doesn't care if the file can be played by the client or not, if the client doesn't support the format, the file doesn...

Re: 3D MVC Option

I just read fetef's post again and I think I misunderstood him the first time around. What he's actually saying is: 1. New Samsung TVs can play MVC 3D properly if it's in an M2TS container using onboard decoding. 2. You can send an MVC 3D movie in an M2TS container to the TV via Plex without affect...

Re: 3D MVC Option

Also, Newer Samsung TVs can play 3D MVC files in an m2ts container, certainly through the Plex app for Samsung, and i suspect also over DLNA and USB as well. And yes it is full frame 1080p!! Here is what works for me: -Rip with MakeMKV, selecting the MVC video track and also the HD audio and core au...
