My BW-16D1HT is flaking. As suggest above, your best bet is to get a new drive. My BU40N is a tank.

clean the disc with a damp lint free microfiber cloth and dry with another.
after that replace the discs if that still does not work get a BU40N or UHD pioneer

Tried wiping them. I have had them for a long time unfortunately I cannot return them.

So far LOTR series is the only 4k UHD disks I cannot rip using my BW-16D1HT drive (driver ver 10.0.19041.1266). They play just fine on my Blu-ray Player. What is it with these LOTR disks? An HTPC.

I did select the MVC file.
40.8GB Video file
Mpeg4-MVC-3D file
DTS-HD Audio
And forced English subs.

When I play the file back it simply looks like a 2D MKV.

I ripped the 3D Bluray but it plays back as 3D. I see that the file size is larger than the 2D version. Any ideas?
