Re: hkdata.crabdance.com or hkdata.fairuse.org not found
For those using Bitdefender's Total Security suite, here's a quick and easy solution. Please note that this will temporarily reduce your system's protection from web attacks, so you may want to close any browsers and/or actively connected chat services while doing this. First, close MakeMKV. We will...

Re: Citizen Kane
The original 4K disc of Citizen Kane was replaced due to a manufacturing error (https://www.criterion.com/current/posts/7615-how-to-get-your-citizen-kane-blu-ray-disc-1-replaced), and subsequently there is a different version floating around. I believe the disc I am in possession of is the rerelease...

Re: All main episodes show up as one title/file.
Just wanted to chime in and say that the MKVToolnix (mkvmerge) option works great. Recommend using the portable installation for Windows users to bypass the whole Program Files access issues, and use the following command prompt in either CMD or Powershell: mkvmerge.exe -o output.mkv --split chapter...

Re: "No disc" message
@Billycar11 — Confirmed success with the BU40N. You were right! This little drive is amazing. :D Which leads me to my theory: I believe console drives feature enhanced overreading capabilities (that or the lens isn't limited by the base firmware). This makes sense because over-reading and lead-in m...

Re: "No disc" message
Well, "trash" may be a bit of an over-exaggeration since they normally work great for me (and rip full speed vs. as opposed to the BU40N), but I will consider picking up a BU40N to give this the a proper testing. I'll post my results once I have one in-hand. I also ordered a replacement di...

Re: "No disc" message
Here's something additional information that may be relevant to this conversation. Hope it helps! I am also encountering a "no disc" error, where the drive cannot read my disc. The disc is brand new from a sealed package and 100% scratch-free from what I can see with 20/20 vision. I also h...

Re: MakeMKV 1.9.10 freezes at start
As promised, here's what I found. Rebooting in safe mode allows me to run MakeMKV just fine. I proceeded to deselect "Expert Mode" and "Error Logging", then restarted the app (still in safe mode) and it booted up again just fine. Rebooted to normal Windows 10 with "Expert Mo...

Re: MakeMKV 1.9.10 freezes at start
Not sure how related this is, but I was running 1.9.10 just fine on Windows 7 64-bit when I upgraded to Windows 10 64-bit last night. Can't get the app to load now. I keep getting a "Fatal error occurred; program will now exit" message every time I open the app. The app immediately freezes...

Re: Wanting higher resolution
Circling back Verve's original issue...Woodstock is correct, in that the issue CAN be with the playback/transcoding. However, I've also found that certain DVDs that were overly compressed can also lend itself to looking extra-rough when being played back on a digital player...even on one as capable ...

Re: Hamlet (2009) - DBG ASSERT error
Here's a DEBUG log for a more recent attempt at Ghostbusters. The following asserts occur immediately at the beginning of the MT2S verification process. It also doesn't seem to affect the ability to open the INDEX file in MakeMKV after the fact...so I'm not sure really how much of an issue it is exc...

Re: Hamlet (2009) - DBG ASSERT error
Encountered this issue with MakeMKV v1.9.00 (x64). The disc is brand new and the surface is flawless (My Cousin Vinny, 1992). Any chance its a newer type of encryption?

And like I said, the featurette works just fine in PowerDVD 10...so yeah, it is bizarre. :)
Let me know if I can do any further tests/analysis on this to help troubleshoot this.

Re: Audio Issue with Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix "Extr
@ndjamera: That's at least some confirmation. Thanks for checking. @woodstock: Yeah, my method is to dump the disc fully (decryption enabled) to disc using the M2TS integrity checks. If I get any errors I simply retry the disc with my secondary drive. I didn't receive any hash check errors, and like...

Re: Audio Issue with Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix "Extr
My extraction method was to backup the entire disc to my hard-drive so that MakeMKV would cross-check the data against the M2TS hash tables. Once I'd done this, I would load the index.bdmv, select the files I wanted, and save as MKV. This way I knew that the files were being double-checked against t...
