Perhaps. The simple answer is yes, if you are on the same distro. The long one is, it matters on glibc and gcc versions used.
What distro? There is likely a person doing one for your distro here. I run a repo for Red Hat/CentOS/Scientific/Oracle 7.

Poor stream quality, perfect rip quality -- any ideas?
OK I have several discs I have been using to look into rip speed issues, and noticed that I can rip (slowly) but get perfect results. Streaming is pure garbage. 2 secs of video, 15 sec of buffering. This is via VLC or mPlayer.
Any tips on what I should look into as the culprit? I am currently in ...

Re: makemkv Blu-Ray extraction exceptionally slow with Cento
It looks like I may have to determine which library is not right. I see that according to not only my spec file, but also what is on my system, that the makemkv specific things are correct. But I am having some issues determining what is being loaded. I can see that ffmpeg is built wrong, but also ...

Re: makemkv Blu-Ray extraction exceptionally slow with Cento
I am currently working on packaging up the new version. Ill take a look at what I can get going with that. I know that when I first ran this under CentOS 7.0 it was slowish. I can see if there are some build flags or something that may answer why it is so much faster on Fedora as opposed to EL.

Re: Bash script to download and install MakeMKV for Linux.
Actually rather nice job done here!
The suggestions would be:
-Combine the two scripts.
-Check for files present and query to redownload if files are present. To see if there are partially downloaded ones, use curl/wget and save it to blah.gz.part and then whence completed mv it to blah.tar.gz ...

I rolled up some packages for EL7
I rolled up some RPMs for EL7 (Red Hat, CentOS, Oracle, Scientific Linux, Springdale). Sadly I do have a few dependencies outside of my repo. This needs Nux's repo alongside mine. And for rebuilding the SRPMs, you will need ATRPMS as well with a few special parameters to block out packages that step ...

Re: [Updated: v1.8.13] MakeMKV rpm for Centos / RHEL 6
What would it take (bribery is acceptable by me
) to get el7 rpms made too? Or sharing of the .spec file you used or srpm?

OpenSUSE 13.1 help compiling
OK. I found the page here which details the rough instructions for getting things going. I also found this page .
Where I stand is here: got the bin package installed just fine, not much to do there anyhow. The oss package is where I am running into issues. Here is some terminal output:
