Thanks for replying, turns out the disc was bad. wouldnt play in any of my blu ray players, had to take it back and exchange it today. new one is working just fine.

When i try to back up the Blu ray of Her, i get this error "Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:ILLEGAL MODE FOR THIS TRACK' occurred while reading 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH12LS39 1.00' at offset '524288'". i have no problems with any of my other blu rays.
