In the installation topic of Makemkv, two kind of installation is described : one with libavcodec (standard) and one with libavcodec.
What is the difference between the two codecs ?
What is the best experience ?

I have some issues to make mkv with DVD of The Wolf of Wall Street.
Two errors are printed :
