Re: MakeMKV on Linux
Hello, Do a quick search for 13fd:3609 - there's a few other people who are having issues with that chipset. I never did do any more work getting makemkv to work via the makemkvcon, rather than the x window version - but the usb2 usb -> sata cable works fine. It seems that seller has stopped selling...

Re: MakeMKV on Linux
woohoo! It works via xserver. So the usb->sata cable i posted above works with my MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ260AF I'd suggest anyone else who has a drive connected via usb3 that isn't working try the above cable. Yes this is usb2....but it works! Now to work out what's up with makemkvcon, as ultimately i do...

Re: MakeMKV on Linux
It's been a few months, and I'd partly given up trying to get this working on my server. Mainly because I'd copied all the bluerays I had through my windows laptop. I recently got some more and it became an issue again ripping things on my laptop. I ended up deciding it must be to be with caddy, so ...

Re: makemkv 1.9.5: COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE
look in dmesg for the hardware id of the carrier for the drive. I bought that drive off ebay and it came in a caddy made by initio (no mention on caddy, this is from looking in dmesg). I found that the initio chip set for usb3 does not work under linux when working with makemkv. I bought a usb -> 13...

Re: Copy Protection Key Exchange Failure
I'm not a 100% percent sure what you're looking for so I attached the complete output. The PC is a Lenovo IdeaCentre D400 - one of the devices is some kind of recovery flash drive. Just in case you're wondering. When it was still running Windows Home Server 2011 it ran MakeMKV perfectly - exact sam...

Thanks, for me certainly the Issue is only present on Linux, for which anydvd isn't availableCountryBumkin wrote: So until this problem is fixed, you could try to run ANYDVD HD (if you have it) along with makeMKV on the problem disks.

Re: MakeMKV on Linux
I've found out (I think) what has caused my issue. The bluray drive is in a bay made by Initio Corporation Bus 001 Device 004: ID 13fd:3940 Initio Corporation which lsusb -v gives me: Bus 001 Device 004: ID 13fd:3940 Initio Corporation Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 2.10 bDev...

Re: will someone help a newb install MakeMKV on Ubuntu 14.04
I have Unbuntu 14.04 LTS and just downloaded makemkv and tried to install it but was unsuccessful. The forum I was using with instructions was dated 2010 so I'm wondering if I have the best instructions. Any help for this newb would be appreciated. What steps did you take? In short it should be : s...

Re: Install script for MakeMkV for Linux
The error about key exchange is caused by a number of things, one of which is the operating system not allowing MakeMKV to directly access the drive. Since the operating system doesn't have the key that the drive wants, the exchange fails. Are you aware of a way of telling the operating system to a...

Re: Install script for MakeMkV for Linux
I'll keep the script up for anyone that wants to use it, but I switched over to the hosted ppa (didn't know it was out there!) for my system. https://launchpad.net/~heyarje/+archive/makemkv-beta Doesn't seem to work on Ubuntu 14.04. Same issue as when I try and install it manually :( Error 'Scsi er...
