But my gut feeling says they introduced a new encryption mechanism.

This is strange - the drive worked like a charm on discs from season 1-4. Is this related to the drive being faulty?

Hi, unfortunately the errors regarding the copy protection persist. When I try to create backup of the disk and later decrypt I get The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted Failed to open disc So, version 1.8.11 doesn't seem to fix the issue. Version 1.8.8 or 1.8.9 or 1.8.1...

Any hint when we will see this fixed in 1.8.11 ?
