Re: MakeMKV, just BUY it already.....
Personally I don't get the point in not generating a new key until a third or more into the new month. Usually there's a couple or few days into the new cycle before there's a new key but now it's up to a third of a month. If they want to increase sales, how about making the cost more reasonable? Th...

Re: Titleset/Calculated BUP offset warnings with xreveal rips
Wow, I had no idea you could finally do this. Absolutely this would solve my problem. What's the method of doing this? Is there a thread that discusses this? I'm still curious why I'm getting these warnings with my xreveal backups, but maybe I won't need to worry about it if I can make ISOs with mak...

Re: Titleset/Calculated BUP offset warnings with xreveal rips
I also get loads of "assuming fake title" warnings when opening either an iso or folder created by xreveal, or when opening an original disc directly, with xreveal in the system tray. When opening a disc directly without xreveal running in the system tray, I get no "fake title" w...

Titleset/Calculated BUP offset warnings with xreveal rips
I'm trying out the free software xreveal to make backups of my DVDs as many are very very old. It has the same functionality as anydvd or dvdfab passkey (you need to provide a keydb) , with options for both "rip to hard disk" and "rip to image". The first disc is an older DVD wit...

Re: Your temporary key has expired and was removed
I must admit that it makes me chuckle to see the customers complain about a FREE product. Can you call people who have never paid for a product 'customers'? So you're shaming people for actually using a provided feature (the free key program)? The program is offered as freeware, so naturally ...

Re: Confusion about mkv and mvc formats
Utter nonsense. I still buy modern 3D blu-rays regularly. The 3D Film Archive also still releases vintage 50's 3D films. Vinegar Syndrome just recently released another of their 3D 70's/80's horror titles. People have been claiming it's dead for years, yet many still enjoy the format. Is it struggli...

Re: Any way to strip Dolby Vision and just mux HDR10?
You can't use older versions because the keys are invalid, without setting your date back on your PC and risking messing some things up that rely on the date.
But if older versions do what I want, then there's no reason why newer versions couldn't add that option back in.

Re: Any way to strip Dolby Vision and just mux HDR10?
Yeah, I just learned a couple days ago about dovi_tool, and it's definitely a PITA. Lots of extra time and effort and HDD space needed to work. I really hope MakeMKV adds an option to strip out the DV and just leave HDR10. It would make things so much easier. Not everyone wants DV in their rips. Med...

Any way to strip Dolby Vision and just mux HDR10?
My TV handles Dolby Vision poorly, and my Dune player insists on playing Dolby Vision if it sees it in the file. There's no way to select HDR10. So the only way around that would be if I could create mkvs without Dolby Vision and only include HDR10. But I see no option to do that with makemkv. It ju...

Re: Warning message about DVDFab
We still haven't gotten any official comment or confirmation on my question from last October. As I said, MakeMKV has given us this warning about DVDfab products for ages, but is this applicable to modern versions of DVDfab, or does this only apply to ancient versions that were known to have problem...

Re: license not resetting after installing
Frustrating. I went to use it this evening and I get "license expired", yet it's only the 30th still here, and there's still the 31st to go for January with no key. Knowing he's got it set to expire at the end of the month, why not have the new key already posted a day or two in advance? W...

Re: Decryption On The Fly
I don't use MPC-HC, I use MPC-BE. Is there a way to get MPC-BE to use MakeMKV's libaacs.dll? Currently it plays the main feature but I can't see any option to go to the disc menu for disc navigation. VLC is working with full menus.

Re: Odd Frame rate readings in Mediainfo from NTSC mkv files
Another follow-up email from MediaInfo: "Not correctly = I would not say that, just that this cheat mode on the file side (from the makers of the DVD) is not caught in your case :). But... Yes and no: there is an issue about the precision, if MakeMKV catches "2:3 pulldown"(sorry, it ...

Re: Odd Frame rate readings in Mediainfo from NTSC mkv files
New replies from MediaInfo: "Reason there are 2 issues: 1 with MakeMKV (the 24.xxx thing, also in the Bigasoft file) and 1 with Bigasoft (it puts a good duration in a wrong place and a bad duration in the right place). Explanation about 24.xxx frame rate in next email." And the follow-up ...

Re: Odd Frame rate readings in Mediainfo from NTSC mkv files
I got a reply back from the creator of mediainfo: "Make MKV test.mkv": Frame rate comes from statistical tags created by MakeMKV: - duration is indicated as 5.388716666 - number of frames is indicated as 132 I just divide 132 by 00:00:05.388716666. Report the issue to MakeMKV developer. &...
