Can anyone here verify that the 3.02 f/w update from Firmware HQ (link posted on page 8 of this thread) does not remove the ability to rip UHD discs?

Reason for question: On page 9, member nokia768701 stated that his drive which was manufactured in Nov of '17 and came with v3.02 would not rip discs ...

It also assumes you have a copy of a BD-capable player; I don't. I banished PowerDVD from my systems when I caught it updating firmware on my drive without authorization, "for compatibility".

Yup, 1.8.8 and mono LCPM is a no-go. V1.8.7 works perfectly. I'm sure this will get fixed in a future release.

OK, I think I have it figured out.

These movies are mastered in Japanese mono LPCM with English subtitles. I just read here on the forum that mono LPCM tracks are not ripping properly with v1.8.8. I just installed 1.8.7 and so far, the movies appear to be ripping correctly. I'll report back if the ...

I am unable to rip any of the Zatoichi movies from my Criterion BD set with MakeMKV. When I try, MakeMKV halts quickly with this message:

"MakeMKV Beta popup
Copy complete. 0 titles saved, 1 failed"
