Re: Install MakeMKV V1.9.1 For Linux Gentoo from source
these are generic build instructions - it is much more consistent and easier if you let portage do that for you. cd into the directory containing the makemkv-ebuilds directly inside the portage-directory ( /usr/portage/media-video/makemkv/ : your ebuild will be deleted on next emerge --sync) or to y...

glibc-2.20 / linux-3.18
one question for the devs: does/will makemkv run with glibc-2.20 and on linux-3.18? i would specifically like to know this because i remember it took quite a while until it ran with glibc-2.19; i guess the new kernel will not be a problem. OK, just checked: it runs on linux-3.18 with glibc-2.19-r1. ...

Re: makemkvcon causes segfaults in orc
nice for you, but no go on my boxes. i tried 1.8.7, 1.8.8 and 1.8.9; with stable and unstable. i downgraded liborc from 0.4.18 to 0.4.17 - the same results: [ 1153.795110] makemkvcon[29950]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fd75c85e002 sp 00007fff682be078 error 4 in liborc-0.4.so.0.18.0[7fd75c85e000+7c000] [ 1...

Re: MakeMKV not compiling for me
configure: error: unrecognized option: `--ffmpeg-path' OK, i was just guessing because my package-manager does all this for me. have you run this: ice@x2 ~/tmp/makemkv-oss-1.8.8 $ ./configure --help <SNIP> ffmpeg_CFLAGS C compiler flags for ffmpeg, overriding pkg-config ffmpeg_LIBS linker flags for...

Re: MakeMKV not compiling for me
run ./configure --help and this will show you how to pass which params. then you run configure with the correct suse-path to ffmpeg, eg configure --ffmpeg-path /ffmpeg/path/on/suse-systems or you directly edit the makefile. if you just invoke ffmpeg w/out params it should tell you the important stuf...

MAKEMKV still causes segfaults with stable glibc (2.17)
after my previous post http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7517 running makemkv on an "unstable" system with the latest software (gentoo ~amd64, glibc-2.18, gcc-4.8.2) i set up a stable system with glibc-2.17 and gcc-4.7.3. makemkv still causes segfaults on this stable sy...

Re: makemkvcon causes segfaults in orc
THX for the replies - i already suspected that. i haven't tested the new version yet and i guess we will not get the source to compile makemkvcon ourselves. i briefly thought about downgrading glibc but i really do not want to destroy some smoothly-running systems. so i guess the only thing that's l...

makemkvcon causes segfaults in orc
in my gentoo-systems makemkvcon does not run anymore; on intel with 3.12.8-gentoo it causes segfaults in liborc: makemkvcon[22625]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f1aaa9e0002 sp 00007fffb2f3fcc8 error 4 in liborc-0.4.so.0.17.0[7f1aaa9e0000+79000] and on amd with 3.13.0-gentoo-r1: makemkvcon[16446]: segfault ...
