Re: No Atmos track for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1
I have the latest MakeMKV version 1.9.2 for Linux (x64). On Linux, You have to build MakeMKV with the latest ffmpeg that supports Atmos in truehd. Ah, that sorted it! :) I installed latest snapshot of ffmpeg using this guide (added --enable-pic to ./configure of ffmpeg), and recompiled makemkv. Tha...

No Atmos track for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1
I have the UK release of The Hunger Games Mockingjay - Part 1, which comes with an Atmos audio track. However, MakeMKV doesn't register the track. Only the lossy 5.1 AC3 track is listed:

Re: dealing with a 1080i VC-1 encode
It's complete, just buggy. Most of the artifacts will be gone after a one-line bugfix lands in the nightlies (within a few days). Handbrake got a VC-1 patch in build 5993 yesterday. I tested it, and now the converted VC-1 rip is completely without any remaining artifacts. If you can't see...

Re: dealing with a 1080i VC-1 encode
When ripping the BBC BD Wonders of the Solar System, which is interlaced VC-1 too, I'm unable to jump to another time position when playing back the video file. Additionally, there is no information on the length of the movie file. This does, however, not apply to the Doctor Who rip, which is conver...

Re: dealing with a 1080i VC-1 encode
I just upgraded Handbrake to build 5983, and I'm trying to convert a Doctor Who BD from a raw MakeMKV rip to h.264 using Handbrake. Still I have some issues with pixelated artifacts now and then during playback. The playback is otherwise smooth compared to running the raw VC-1 rip. Are there any set...

Re: Error during playback of Doctor Who - The Complete Speci
Ok, so I updated ffmpeg to the latest stable realease, and I'm still having trouble with the VC-1 (interlaced) rips. VLC now plays the file, but the video is extremely choppy and pixelated. Same result in mplayer. Plex plays the file a bit better, but also there it is choppy and a little less pixela...

Re: Error during playback of Doctor Who - The Complete Speci
Ah, thanks! I had a slight feeling that it could be a codec issue. I tested the file in Plex after posting, and there it played fine.Romansh wrote:You need to build and/or link your players against a newer version of libavcodec.

Error during playback of Doctor Who - The Complete Specials
I'm not really sure where to post this, since makemkv successfully completes the rip of this blu-ray. However, when I try to play the ripped file in VLC, Totem and mplayer, the playback quits immediately. mplayer prints the following errors (see attached file for full output): Error while decoding f...

Re: Which audio tracks should I keep?
Not to mention that some audio tracks are NOT movie audio; the LPCM 2.0 is likely to be a commentary track. In this case it's not a commentary track. Your choices are going to depend upon the movie and what your devices can handle. Unless you're using a high-end sound system, lossless vs lossy isn'...

Re: Which audio tracks should I keep?
Sorry, I'll elaborate. :) I'm mainly going to play the rips through Plex . Plex will ensure that the rip is transcoded when played on the iPad/smartphones, so full size rip won't be a problem. These devices only need a 2.0 track, so I assume it's better to keep the PCM track over the AC3 track, sinc...

Which audio tracks should I keep?
I'm ripping a concert blu-ray (Within Temptation - Black Symphony), which contains 5 audio tracks: LPCM 2/0 LPCM 3/2+1 DD 3/2+1 DTS 3/2+1 DD 2/0 mkvmerge -i output: Track ID 1: audio (A_PCM/INT/LIT) Track ID 2: audio (A_MS/ACM) Track ID 3: audio (A_AC3) Track ID 4: audio (A_DTS) Track ID 5: audio (A...
