Works fine for me. I have several blu-ray discs that I've ripped that have both DTS:X on the disc AND in the MKV file made with MakeMKV. No issues at all in fact.

All true. Don't forget that some studios to load up their discs with hundreds of playlists just to throw off people and programs to make it harder to select the right file (although there are methods to figuring that out too).

I don't have the movie (yet) otherwise I would help you with the retail copy, but I've used the steps in that video in the past with reasonably good results.
