That's a 2 step tango. MKV rips the movie at the exact size and resolution than the original source. Then you have to reduce (encode) and optimize file for tablet use with another app such as HANDBRAKE. Don't forget also that (typically) there are at least 2 versions on many discs, such as "director's cut", "theatrical version", "extended version" etc etc.

I'm also a newbie with MMkv but the key here is to pay attention.
Pop the disc in a standalone player en verify the exact length and number of chapters, then compare with those with tracks in MMkv.
It will be evident which is the correct one.

I'm in same boat. Discovered MakeMKV just a month ago and although I consider it a great tool, for many of us are late at the party since it seems like the honeymoon is over.
