Re: 7.1 DTS-HD MA copies incorrectly?
BTW the problem with converting DTS-MA 7.1 to FLAC should now be fixed. Just make sure you are using the latest version of dtsdecoderdll.dll as explained on this page (/dtshd/). Download and install Arcsoft TMT player (http://www.arcsoft.com/totalmedia-theatre/) don't run the software just search t...

Re: 7.1 DTS-HD MA copies incorrectly?
That seems to be what was happening... when I extract the DTS-HD MA track using mkvextract v6.7.0 and pass that output to eac3to 3.27 it shows: E:\eac>eac3to.exe Weeds_S3_test.dts DTS Master Audio, 7.1 channels, 24 bits, 48kHz, dialnorm: -4db (core: DTS, 5.1 channels, 24 bits, 1509kbps, 48kHz, dialn...

7.1 DTS-HD MA copies incorrectly?
Hello all. A while back when I was exploring the issue explained here , I've actually noticed something odd. I have several blu-rays that have audio in 7.1. Most of these are encoded DTS-HD MA, one is encoded straight LPCM. In the thread above it was concluded the strange channel layout made it diff...

Re: Multi-core CPU support??
Also, is the ffmpeg against which MakeMKV is linked singlethreaded in the Linux version? I mashed up the instructions here and here to get myself a nice install of ffmpeg that supported all the extraneous/non-free formats [and enabled YASM, not sure why the MakeMKV devs suggest disabling this]. Thre...

Re: Multi-core CPU support??
Good to know... I had been using the "-threads" flag to set it to 1 anyway. Guess that was unnecessary!

Re: DTS-HD to FLAC conversion fails for "Pan's Labyrinth (20
I actually noticed something interesting in working with this... when I rip Pan's Labyrinth, instructing MakeMKV to simply copy the DTS-HD MA track, it seems to get downmixed (or at least channels get discarded). ffprobe of the output mkv shows this: Stream #0:2(spa): Audio: dts (DTS-HD MA), 48000 H...

Re: Multi-core CPU support??
I don't know if MakeMKV is threaded or not, but keep in mind that, unlike Handbrake, MakeMKV doesn't do any transcoding itself. It just takes the audio/video/subtitle/chapter data and muxes it into an MKV, which is not CPU intensive. I would assume the bottleneck on 99% of systems is the Blu-Ray dri...

Re: DTS-HD MA -> FLAC and keep both DTS-HD MA and TrueHD
Got it. I am new to xml editing but when I loaded the flac profile in notepad xml editor and added the extra outputs properly it worked. Thanks for the help Now that I've tried it myself I see what I did wrong. For anyone else's reference, in case they have a similar question: I was wrong to make a...

Re: Latest version fails to rip anything with LPMC Audio
Can confirm this issue on 1.8.12 on Linux x64 also.
Further, I am certain that one particular Blu-Ray (Memento) was able to rip with 1.8.11 but fails with 12.

Re: DTS-HD MA -> FLAC and keep both DTS-HD MA and TrueHD
Glad to help.
Don't know why only one of my responses actually got posted here, oh well.
Anyway the post that didn't show linked to this, which can help for conversion profiles.
Happy ripping.

Re: Conversion profile for anyone interested.
I like it a lot.
Can't really argue with it being perfect for lossless rips.
Good job!

Re: DTS-HD MA -> FLAC and keep both DTS-HD MA and TrueHD
I am a user of PLEX on a MAC Mini with OSX Mavericks so no HD audio but PLEX will convert TrueHD to PCM. Is there a profile that will convert DTS-HD MA to FLAC and also leave a copy of itself and not convert TrueHD but leave a copy. In this way I can use PLEX and PCM or my Dune HD and bitstream. Ba...

Re: DTS-HD to FLAC conversion fails for "Pan's Labyrinth (20
I'm getting this same error from Pan's Labyrinth Blu-Ray, presumably the same version as I'm trying to rip 00007.mpls. I am using MakeMKV 1.8.11 and a version of dtsdecoderdll.dll I got from ArcSoft's TotalMedia Theater a few days ago (presumably version 6.7.1.99 of TMT, don't know what version of t...

...and now I feel dumb.
For anyone who is dumb the same way I am, you can buy MakeMKV by going to Help -> Purchase in the program.
Still... the website could use a link
