Re: Will LG BH16NS40 or BH16NS55 work for ripping 4k full discs?
They are all the same regarding hardware. They have various firmware that can be cross-flashed. These drives have not the best read and write performance but they do regularily OK. Pioneer drives are the better readers and writers but Pioneer crippled their firmware in Dec. 2022. So to get a Pionee...

Will LG BH16NS40 or BH16NS55 work for ripping 4k full discs?
As topic states, will either of these drives work for ripping my 4K discs? If so, do they need flashing? Can they be used with USB3 adapters?
I haven't a clue how 4k ripping works.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Audio dropouts from mkv with truehd
It is rather normal, but it is possible that it throws off the TrueHD audio. I am assuming that you're doing a pass-through on the audio, rather than converting it to FLAC. If you're converting to FLAC, it is also possible that there is problem with the code that does the conversion. I would recomm...

Re: Audio dropouts from mkv with truehd
At a guess, I'd say your description is where there were time code differences between tracks on the rip. If you have debug logging enabled, AND have not suppressed AV sync messages, MakeMKV will report where it tries to resynchronize the two. I am not sure i understand what you mean? makemkv did r...

Audio dropouts from mkv with truehd
Hey guys
Can anyone tell me why i get audio dropouts from a truehd track in a mkv made with this program? It only occurs on truehd tracks, and seems to be happening when you pass a chapter.
This is happening from a mkv of John Wick and is very annoying.

Re: Explanation Channel layout: 5.1(side)
Hmm, is this something embedded in the audio on the bluray? Or something makemkv decides? I have both side and rear surrounds,so i would hate for makemkv to lock the channel setting like this. This "setting" or information was not present in earlier versions of makemkv, should i downgrade t...

Explanation Channel layout: 5.1(side)
I just upgraded to the latest version, and see now that this is part of the information when selecting tracks, Channel layout: 5.1(side). What does it mean? And why does it say side when the .1 is subwoofer? Or am i missing something?

Why does my posts need to be admin approved?
When i post a new thread, there is no problem, but if i want to answer or ask a new question in an old thread,it needs admin approval, why is this? Also,if admins need to approve it, why does it take many days for my post to be posted? I have yet to see an answer appear in my last thread http://www.mak...
