Anyone else having trouble with ripping the 4k versions?

Im getting a failed to open disk on all 9 disks. I emailed the dump files about a week ago so assume they were received.

Its been broken for quite some time.

Ive tried a few times to buy a key but it hasn't worked and more recently the option has completely disappeared. Is there a way of buying a permanent key ?

Looking at Mikes posts looks like he comes in once a week and he is due to come back in the next few days based on his last post.

i bought the drive from amazon and they bought me a new disk and offered a refund on the drive (wouldnt replace it so i had to rebuy it). So overall pretty good service by amazon i think. (i didnt even buy the 4k from them it came from JB (another retailer))

Fair reply but no it was sitting alone on the desk.

Just bought one of these drives second disk i put in, it destroyed. Ripped the surface off of it. Looked inside the drive and the dust from the surface was on the edge near the laser lens. Im assuming it has a manufacturing flaw. Really disappointed in this.

Interestingly i updated to El Capitan on that machine and MakeMKV no longer crashes at the end of the failed rip.

Didn't fix the failed rip but the failure is now graceful.

Yeah cleaned it a few times. This disk is annoying ive tried it so many times and also cleaned/different drives. I can live with a perhaps dodgy disk but its interesting that makemkv crashes (even though it says it shut down its actually a crash. I come back to the machine and the software has abort...
