Re: MakeMKV Scaling Issue 4K Screens
docke22, thank you for that article as it's made the scaling much better. It's not perfect, but the sizing is much better now and I don't need to put reading glasses on to read the words! :D Hopefully, MakeMKV can add native scaling support, but for now this is a nice workaround. https://onedrive.li...

MakeMKV Scaling Issue 4K Screens
I recently upgraded my laptop to one with a 4K screen after using 2K laptop screens for a long time. After the change, I noticed that MakeMKV isn't scaling its UI elements (eg fonts, controls) like other applications are which makes it more difficult to use. Here is a screenshot showing Windows Expl...

Re: Issue Parsing UK Playlists
I’ve seen this before too with the commentaries, although I forget the titles now. I figured that’s just the way it was. Re: the non-film material, have seen this here as well. The playlist and possibly some additional files on the Blu-ray must contain the "instructions" on how to properl...

Issue Parsing UK Playlists
I just came across a new issue trying to remux another UK Blu-ray. This time it is Sweet Charity from Indicator. This Blu-ray contains three cuts of the film and when loaded in MakeMKV there are three separate playlists (00100.mpls, 00101.mpls, 00102.mpls) for these cuts each containing DTS-HD MA 5....

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Over a year later and I still see tons of issues with DV playback on Shield and tons of hoops to get it to run. While the X700 still plays UHD rips and tsmuxer muxed to .TS, for less money. Any smart TV has plex/kodi/dlna apps... I just don't see the appeal for spending $200 on a device that requir...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Also, I found the following quotes on the nVidia forums: The Shield supports both and will do TV-led if your TV supports it... It does TV-led for me and I still get the slight red push. Hi I didn’t think the Shield was doing TV-led with my C9 but it actually is, shame they can’t nail this on shield...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Ok, just watched this video from Vincent explaining the difference between TV-led and Player-led DV so I can see where TV-led would be the better option... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_a77zJTrO4 Also, I found the following quotes on the nVidia forums: The Shield supports both and will do TV-led...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
there is no DV metadata being sent with LLDV. The metadata was already used by the device to create the DV image. best picture will be tv-led, hence letting a full DV capable TV create the DV image. For LLDV, the player has to guess some of the many parameters hence image will be less correct. Lots...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
Mike, it would be great if Domy94's MLP logic, or something similar, was integrated into the MakeMKV codebase as this would take care of those pops that pop up (sorry, couldn't help myself!) every once in a while on TrueHD tracks. I had previously verified that all the following titles and timestam...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
@domy94 Do you know if this is still occuring in v 1.15.2? It's still occuring in MakeMKV 1.15.3. I'm surprised. It was greatly rewritten in 1.15.2 with some details being here - https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23347&p=98706#p98706 Also, I wonder if MakeMKV does the right ...

Re: Official Dolby Vision MKV spec support
Are you sure the Shield and TV are both on the same display profiles (Cinema Home, Cinema Dark, Technicolor, etc)? Yep, this is the first place I would look. Also, make sure the settings on these profiles are the same as its likely you are using different inputs here (ie Netflix on TV vs Shield).

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Identifying Dolby Vision in MKV files is coming to MediaInfo by tomorrow! https://github.com/MediaArea/MediaInfo/issues/478#issuecomment-705658836 Very nice, another software update to cross off the list! Once Plex gets DV working consistently without the few issues being reported, and it's rolled ...

Re: MakeMKV 1.15.2 and UHD disk with DV Direct Play
This behavior seems to be client dependent. https://forums.plex.tv/t/why-does-plex-transcode-internal-subtitles-pgs-can-i-prevent-it/309545 A post from a Plex employee in the thread linked above… We make player apps for many devices. They use varying technologies based on the device they are on and...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
I'll give kudos when kudos are due. Switching to Plex did make the problem go away, and I still get the dolby atmos with thd core. So, kudos. On the flipside though, unlike dlna servers where the processes takes <1% CPU usage while streaming (since it is just I/O), Plex shows two threads taking up ...
Re: Gandhi
Thank you for your quick reply. Yes, I have used MKVTOOLNIX before MakeMKV 1.15.2 came out, so I’m familiar with the program. I’m just not sure when you combine all the files, i.e. both video files and both Dolby Atmos tracks how they all flow together. I’ll play around with it next week. This post...
