It was just a one-line bug that prevented working with recent ffmpeg. It is fixed in 1.17.8 , all versions of ffmpeg are now supported. The fix can be easily backported to previous versions - it is just a single-line type in makemkv-oss package.

-just tested makemkv-1.17.8, (building it) with latest ffmpeg-snapshot, and the FLAC profiles, ..., all work fine now.
